2023 Cadillac Escalade EV Redesign, Colors, Interior, Engine. The upcoming 2023 Cadillac Escalade EV is basically official. It will be the next-gen Cadillac SUV and it will feature an all-electric variant. According to various reliable reports, this model will provide around 400 miles of driving range. GM presented the 2023 Escalade already. However, it is the skateboard platform and new batteries that caught the attention.
Skateboard architecture is the future. This platform will underpin most of the electric vehicles in the future, including the Ford and Rivian models. Now, more information leaked and here’s what to expect from the all-new Escalade.
Skateboard Platform
As everyone expected, the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade EV will deploy GM’s BT1 platform. It is the architecture that will underpin various electric vehicles in the feature. This platform is using similar technology as GM’s BEV3 electric car architecture. However, it is designed specifically for SUVs and larger trucks. GM also introduced new batteries as well.
The batteries will be placed both vertically and horizontally. Thanks to that, Cadillac will have better flexibility when modifying the BT1 platform. Moreover, it will be easier for the manufacturer to modify this architecture for different vehicles.
2023 Escalade EV Charging
We won’t bother you with the design and interior details. We already wrote about the regular 2023 Escalade. The all-new 2023 Cadillac Escalade EV will arrive with an 800-volt battery pack. Moreover, 350 kW fast-charging is available as well. GM has a plan for its future electric vehicles, including the GMC Hummer truck.
Similar technology will be present in the Escalade SUV. The new technology provides quick charging ability, despite the huge size of the battery packs. Exact charging details are not available yet, but expect impressive figures, once the Escalade EV arrives.
Power Figures
The fifth-gen Escalade will arrive with three powertrain options. One of them is the all-electric powertrain that will be similar to the one inside the new GMC Hummer truck. Of course, don’t expect such astonishing figures such as 1,000 horsepower.

Still, all-electric Escalade will deliver more power than the conventional gasoline variant. GM’s platform can provide astonishing performances. The regular model provides 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Expect even higher figures once this full-size body-on-frame SUV arrives.
2023 Cadillac Escalade EV Price and Release Date
A fully electric version won’t become available right from the start in 2023. You can firstly expect the arrival of the regular Escalade later in 2023. That means the 2023 Cadillac Escalade EV will go on sale at some point next year.
Most likely, the launch will happen in the second quarter of 2023. The price is not available yet. The base trim level starts at $76,000 so fully electric version will surely cost closer to $100,000.
