The forthcoming 2023 Dodge Durango will receive mid-cycle updates once again. The 2021 model received significant upgrades, so the next Durango would receive numerous small improvements. For starters, this SUV will introduce visual improvements, which is what this model desperately needed. More standard features and new systems will be added to the interior, which is great to hear.
A new touchscreen is also a possibility for 2023MY. The manufacturer doesn’t plan to deliver significant refreshments, but the Durango SRT Hellcat variant with over 700 horsepower, is in the works. Both versions will be available for purchase in the second half of 2021.
2023 Durango Facelift
The 2023 Dodge Durango will get a mid-cycle facelift. As previously said, the current model received significant changes, but the 2023MY is mostly a carryover. Fortunately, the exterior design will be refreshed. Dodge will provide cosmetic enhancements on all trim levels, which is fantastic. The manufacturer will also offer new exterior paints, new tires, and minor updates to the front fascia.
The taillights on the 2023 Durango will also be revamped, and the rear bumper will look bolder. The side profile remains too. Still, Durango will reportedly borrow some cues from the Charger Widebody model, such as the running lights and hood design. Lastly, the Durango SRT variant comes with a new rear spoiler and air intakes.
Interior Looks Both Sporty and Elegant
The interior of the new 2023 Dodge Durango will remain unchanged. Instead, Dodge will focus solely on the high-tech department. As previously said, all trim levels are getting updates, which is fantastic news. For a start, a new 10.1-inch touchscreen will be available. In addition, the next-generation Uconnect5 infotainment device could be on offer, according to the latest reports.
This, in our view, is the most significant update for 2023MY. Durango comes with numerous trim levels, some of which are premium and luxurious. Upper trims come standard with leather upholstery, bigger screens, and more standard amenities.
Durango and Durango SRT Specs
The forthcoming 2023 Dodge Durango will not get any engine upgrades. This means that the regular Durango has a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine. This engine will generate 295 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the Durango achieves solid fuel economy ratings of 22 mpg combined when equipped with the rear-wheel-drive system.
If you need more power, a familiar 5.7-liter V8 gasoline engine produces 380 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, this model only has a total fuel economy of 18 mpg. The arrival of a modern eTorque mild-hybrid device is only a rumor at the moment. The SRT variant comes with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and an eight-speed automatic transmission is available with all mentioned engine options.
2023 Dodge Durango Price, Release Date
The approaching 2023 Dodge Durango will also be available in SRT Hellcat trim. This edition, however, will be available in limited numbers. The cause for this is the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, FCA’s Jefferson factory is being retooled for the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. The upcoming Durango SUV will start at $44,000. The first deliveries will take place in the second half of 2021.
