The all-new 2023 Nissan Murano is ready for another mid-cycle refreshment. This popular SUV rides on its third generation that has been introduced in 2015. A redesign happened recently, so the new Murano won’t offer significant changes and upgrades. Whatsoever, most of the parts will carry over, but some improvements will happen. Murano is a five-seat two-row mid-size SUV, but some reports are suggesting new architecture.
Thanks to that, this model could slightly grow in size. Of course, a new platform means that some sort of hybrid powertrain is in the works. Reportedly, Nissan will try to bring Murano closer to its brand-new electric Ariya model. Without further ado, this is everything we know about new Murano and its updates.
2023 Murano Facelift
The 2023 Nissan Murano should introduce minor cosmetic upgrades. That includes a slightly modified V-Motion grille and sharper LED headlights and taillights. As we said, Murano will use Nissan Ariya’s electric crossover as an inspiration in the future. Thanks to that, we won’t be surprised if Nissan delivers some new styling cues or exterior features.
Murano is recognizable by its floating roof and roof rails. The 2023MY will also introduce a new platform. It is a slightly longer architecture, so Murano SUV will grow in size, but not drastically. As before, this model will offer the same 18-inch wheels as standard and we expect the same exterior colors palette.
Interior Changes
The interior of the new 2023 Nissan Murano is also getting mid-cycle updates. The cabin provides a room for five passengers and it also offers 67 cubic feet of cargo space. We like the ample legroom, even for the adults in the back. Besides that, Murano SUV provides a high level of comfort and generally, a quiet and pleasant ride. Still, competitors such as Subaru Outback and Honda Passport are offering more cargo space. As before, Murano is available in four trim levels.
The entry-level S variant delivers a smaller display and manually-adjustable seats. However, the range-topping Platinum trim level comes with more luxury, including leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, and a larger touchscreen. The 2023 Murano will gain a cleaner design of the dashboard, a new infotainment system, and possibly the latest safety aids.
Murano Could Gain Hybrid Powertrain Option
First of all, the 2023 Nissan Murano will once again offer the same 3.5-liter V6 engine. This gasoline powertrain is capable of producing 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Nissan offers a standard front-wheel-drive and impressive CVT automatic transmission. The current model is capable of towing around 1,500 pounds.
However, new architecture clearly suggests some sort of hybrid powertrain. If Murano truly gains a new platform, then a hybrid variant is a must. This is not official yet, but we expect for Murano to borrow a lot of stuff from the brand-new Nissan Ariya electric crossover.
2023 Nissan Murano Price, Release Date
The upcoming 2023 Nissan Murano will cost around $32,500, according to various reports. The changes are far from significant but a new platform is a possibility at the moment. Murano SUV will go on sale later in 2021 and it will rival Ford Edge, Honda Passport, and Chevy Blazer.
