Nissan is focusing on the markets in the United States. While the rest of the world is getting Navara pickup, customers in the U.S. will get the Frontier model. However, this may not be the case every time. The 2023 Nissan Navara AT32 is perhaps the finest example. It is a model that is not available in America, but it should be. The off-road variant won’t arrive in the United States for sure, and that is a bad thing.
It is an impressive pickup that will get further updates. On the other hand, Frontier is the same pickup for years now. The Navara AT32 will gain improved graphics and mechanics, which is great. This version is full of great options, and here’s what to expect from it in 2023.
2023 Navara AT32 Changes and Upgrades
The all-new 2023 Nissan Navara AT32 is an off-road trim or package, call it whatever you like. Nissan decided to provide further updates to set it apart from the regular Navara pickup. For a start, this variant will introduce new underbody protection with full-length aluminum panels. According to Nissan, new Nokian tires are available too. Thanks to that, AT32 will get better mileage and better off-road performances.
The satin-black aluminum wheels are looking amazing and are available with dual valve stems, which should provide easier adjustment of tire pressure. Nissan will provide a lifted suspension that provides almost ten inches of ground clearance. Departure angles are better now, and the suspension will utilize Bilstein shocks. The front differential locker is available as standard, while the rear locking differential will be optional. Lastly, the AT32 model comes with the Safari snorkel.
Tough Off-Road Tests In Cold Winter
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the new 2023 Nissan Navara AT32 was extensively tested in different conditions. The arriving pickup truck was tested in the Arctic and Iceland. Moreover, Nissan will put on the test new AT32 pickup in different conditions and different terrains.

However, stories about testing in the U.S. are false. The automaker confirmed that this model has nothing to do with the United States. The next chapter includes testing of the new light kits and new roll bars.
Why AT32 Variant Won’t Come in America?
Why new 2023 Nissan Navara AT32 won’t reach the American shores? It is a perfect model for the Frontier lineup, and it could be added as some sort of off-road package. Navara is built in Thailand, Mexico, Argentina, China, and Spain. The biggest obstacle for Navara coming to the U.S. is the famous „Chicken Tax.“ It is definitely easier for Navara to be produced in Mississippi, the same plant where Frontier is made.
For some reason, this won’t happen. Frontier is available since 1998, while Navara made its debut in 2014. Having Frontier is nice, but it seems like the Navara is a more popular pickup truck because it is available in the rest of the world. The two models are almost the same in terms of mechanics and aesthetics.
2023 Nissan Navara AT32 Release Date
The price of the 2023 Nissan Navara AT32 will go on sale in the first quarter of the next year. The price of the regular Navara starts at almost $30,000, so the AT32 trim will cost a little bit more. Still, the exact price is not available yet. Navara could get an all-electric variant in 2023, according to the latest reports.
