The upcoming 2023 Toyota Tundra is about to introduce its latest upgrades. This pickup truck will go on sale later in 2020 and it will offer plenty of novelties. Whatsoever, we know basically everything about the all-new Tundra. Besides the new Nightshade Edition, Tundra will also introduce its hybrid version.
The new platform is in the works right now and Toyota will most likely introduce new suspension and more. Moreover, this model will arrive with interesting cosmetic updates. The interior will get the latest modern technologies and we expect for Toyota to deliver the best Tundra so far.
New Platform
Once it arrives, a new 2023 Toyota Tundra will ride on a different platform. It is a company’s TNGA architecture that will be able to accommodate a hybrid system. Moreover, the same platform underpins the current Toyota Tacoma pickup. Thanks to that, Tundra will lose some weight and it will suffer small dimensional changes. The same architecture will improve a vehicle’s efficiency and of course, the performance.
2023 Tundra Hybrid and Nightshade Edition
The highlight of the 2023 Toyota Tundra will be its hybrid variant. This iconic truck will finally obtain hybrid powertrain after years of rumors. Whatsoever, it is still a rumor because Toyota didn’t confirm the hybrid version. However, the most reliable sources are strongly suggesting hybrid powertrain. This version will deploy a turbocharged V6 and a single electric motor. This output should deliver around 450 horsepower and up to 500 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Tundra Hybrid will offer significantly improved fuel efficiency.
As for the new Nightshade Edition, it will bring a blacked-out appearance that looks very premium. Beside Tundra, Toyota will offer the same edition on the Tacoma and Sequoia models. Moreover, Sienna minivan, Corolla, and Camry models are already offering Nightshade Edition. This variant is based on the premium Limited trim level and it will offer a lot of luxury. However, the highlight of the Nightshade Edition is blacked-out exterior features and improved interior design.
Spy Shots
The forthcoming 2023 Toyota Tundra has been spied a couple of months ago. The prototype was showing numerous exterior upgrades and more importantly, new suspension. Still, most of the exterior changes were not visible thanks to the heavy camouflage. The new suspension is here and it will help Tundra to deliver better ride quality. On top of that, the customers should expect a smoother ride and better handling as well.

Available Engines
Nothing will change under the hood. The 2023 Toyota Tundra will once again deploy its 5.7-liter V8. This engine is capable of producing 380 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The latest engine Tundra got is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo. The same engine powers current Lexus LS500. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, Toyota will offer an optional ten-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota did say something about improved performances but a new engine is not on the cards at the moment.
