2023 VW Tiguan Will Redesign, R-Line Version a Possibility. European manufacturers are becoming a severe threat to the U.S. automakers. The latest example is the upcoming 2023 VW Tiguan. This compact crossover is getting a more sophisticated design, and it will look more stylish as well. Recently, a leaked photo on Instagram, showing the latest Tiguan’s facelift, caused a huge splash in the automotive world.
The image is blurry, but that didn’t stop the viewers from seeing the latest design changes. Moreover, the very same photo helped the creators to release the latest renderings. Interestingly, but we could see new 2023 Tiguan this March at the Geneva Motor Show. Tiguan will ride on its second-generation, and here’s what you can expect from Volkswagen this time.
2023 Tiguan Leaked Exterior Photos
The second-gen 2023 VW Tiguan was spotted with a new design. CocheSpias user on Instagram shared the image. Unfortunately, the photo is in a low-resolution, so the quality isn’t that great. However, we can easily spot a couple of novelties. For a start, the headlights are brand-new. Thanks to that, the front fascia looks more modern and upscale. The front bumper is slightly different, and air intakes are significantly larger. Furthermore, fog lights are not on the photo, which provides a cleaner look up front.
Some experts believe that we are looking in the speculated R-Line Tiguan. The main evidence is the front fenders and black alloy wheels. It does make sense, to be honest. The rear part is not available on the same photos, but one of the insiders claims that the taillights are also brand-new. Lastly, the Tiguan lettering will sit in the center of the tailgate, below Volkswagen’s badge.
Interior Updates
The interior of the all-new 2023 VW Tiguan will get a couple of essential updates. First of all, the compact crossover should arrive with new upholstery. Moreover, we can expect the latest version of the infotainment system and larger displays. That includes all trim levels and not only the range-topping variant. Tiguan will once again arrive with a three-row seating layout.
Again, the third-row won’t offer impressive figures in terms of legroom. However, the first two rows are more than spacious for the compact SUV segment. Have in mind that we are talking about the three-row version, while the two-row variant is still offered as standard. Tiguan’s 73.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity is also unchanged. Finally, the 2023 Tiguan will gain more driver-assistance features for a higher safety rating.
Engine and Tiguan R-Line Specs
The forthcoming 2023 VW Tiguan will continue to roll with its 2.0-liter turbo-four gasoline engine. This engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and it generates 185 horsepower. Moreover, it can produce 221 lb-ft of torque. As always before, the customers can choose between a two or four-wheel-drive setups.

Tiguan provides 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. As for the rumored Tiguan R-Line variant, this model should deploy a similar 2.0-liter engine. However, this engine will work with a 4Motion system and a DSG setup. It will produce over 300 hp, and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox will be offered as standard. Moreover, Tiguan R will arrive with different suspension and larger brakes.
2023 VW Tiguan Price and Release Date
We could see the new 2023 VW Tiguan as early as this March at the Geneva Motor Show. A seven-seat version will become available shortly after that, and it will wear the same updates. The price will start at $26,000. New Tiguan could also get its high-performance R-Line version. However, this variant should arrive later in 2023. Source: Motor1
