New 2025 Rivian R1S – Electric SUV With an Powerful Performance. The all-new 2025 Rivian R1S is the company’s latest model. Interestingly, but we are still waiting for Rivian to release its first model ever. That model should be the R1T electric pickup truck. Shortly after that, R1S SUV will follow the same path, and it will see the light of the day. The electric SUV will ride on a so-called “skateboard” platform, and it will provide almost 400 miles of electric range.
On top of that, R1S will offer incredible acceleration thanks to its 750-hp powertrain. Furthermore, Rivian promises a Level 3 autonomous driving capability. The cabin will provide a room for five or seven passengers. As for the exterior, we are not surprised with a sleek design and sporty stance.
2025 R1S Looks Traditional and Unique
The approaching 2025 Rivian R1S will look very modern and robust. The electric SUV comes with a traditional blocky appearance, and it will be 200.7 inches long. To compare, that is few inches shorter than the Chevrolet Tahoe. Some parts are looking very traditional and old-school. On the other hand, the cartoonish front fascia is something completely different.
Oval headlights are vertically-oriented, and a long light bar operates as charge indicator and daytime running light. Finally, you can buy R1S in its special variant that provides 14.3 inches of ground clearance. This ride height is more than the Ford Raptor has to offer.
Interior Features
The arriving SUV will offer two interior configurations. In its standard variant, the 2025 Rivian R1S is a two-row model with a room for five passengers. Optionally, you can load the third-row of seats and make R1S a 7-passenger SUV. You’ll have to calculate a little as the 180-kWh battery comes with the two-row version only. The 2025 R1S will share a lot of components with the R1T pickup truck. That includes the same displays, instrument cluster, infotainment system, and much more.
The dashboard slightly departs, and it looks minimalistic like Tesla’s dash. Another interesting cue is the Mercedes-like gear shifter. You don’t have to worry about the luxury inside the cabin. Rivian will offer some nice touches, upscale materials, and high level of comfort. Lastly, Rivian said that the R1S SUV will arrive with a Level 3 autonomous driving capability.
750-HP Powertrain Comes with 400 Miles Per Charge
Just like its R1T truck sibling, the 2025 Rivian R1S will deploy an AWD system. There will be three battery options: 105 kWh, 135 kWh, and 180 kWh. Interestingly, Rivian will firstly release a 135 kWh and 180 kWh models. Shortly after that, a 105-kWh variant will also go on sale. The all-electric SUV will use four motors/generators, and it will offer up to 400 miles per charge.
