2023 Acura MDX: Changes, Specs, Type S, & Colors. We can’t wait to see refreshed 2023 Acura MDX. The 2023 model won’t receive any significant updates, which is a good thing for the 2023 MDX. Whatsoever, first leaked photos are available, and the mid-size SUV will definitely undergo some changes. Some reports are even suggesting a new-gen model. We’ll see what the future holds.
The interior will surely suffer numerous updates, and it will introduce more safety aids. Moreover, MDX will offer its reliable V6 once again. On the other hand, we will see both 2023 MDX Hybrid and MDX Type S variants. If you want to boost the appearance of the SUV, Acura got you covered with the A-Spec package.
2023 MDX Exterior Redesign is Unlikely to Happen
The all-new 2023 Acura MDX will wear different design this time around. The three-row SUV comes with plenty of sportiness, and we can see the sporty vibe upfront. The front fascia is dominated by the diamond-pentagon grille, and iconic Jewel Eye LED headlamps. However, we can’t call that design unique as RDX crossover will feature almost the same design.
On the other hand, it looks nice, and that is the most important thing. The hybrid variant won’t depart from the regular gasoline model in terms of design. Normally, some changes will happen, but shape and dimensions are exactly the same. Some rumors are suggesting a complete redesign, but that is unlikely to happen on the 2023 MDX model.
Interior Upgrades
The forthcoming mid-size three-row SUV comes with plenty of novelties inside the cabin. That includes numerous tech updates and some new amenities, as well. The 2023 Acura MDX will look more upscale than its predecessor. There will be room for seven passengers, and Japanese manufacturer will look to deliver better comfort.
Furthermore, the list of standard features is longer than before. And while interior details are not available, AcuraWatch suite will be standard on the base trim level for sure. Moreover, upper trim levels will offer tri-zone automatic climate control, power moonroof and leather upholstery.
Gasoline Rumors and MDX Hybrid
Everyone hopes for early Acura’s announcement for the new engine. The 2023 Acura MDX could get one, but this is just a rumor for now. What we do know is that the 3.5-liter V6 will be available once again. Potent V6 delivers 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and it provides smooth ride. Of course, the highlight is its Super-Handling AWD system.

This system boosts the vehicle’s stability and traction. Thanks to that, MDX comes with impressive maneuvering skills, if not the best in the mid-size SUV segment. As for the hybrid variant, MDX will combine a 3.0-liter with an electric generator and the battery pack. The total output will produce around 320 hp. A similar system can be found inside the next Honda Pilot SUV.
What About MDX Type S?
If you want something wilder and sportier, go for the 2023 Acura MDX Type S. It is a company’s sporty division that delivers higher performances. Furthermore, MDX Type S will look incredible, aggressive and sportier than the regular model. This version will deploy a twin-turbo V6, and it will deliver over 400 horses. For 2023, some changes are very likely, so stay tuned when the Acura release official details.
