The forthcoming 2023 Acura RDX model will hit the markets later this year. After the MDX model, the RDX variant is also getting numerous refreshments. Two models will wear basically the same design language and will also offer the same equipment. Both models are known for a modern and spacious interior, while the exterior design is very sharp and modern.
The performances are good as the RDX crossover comes with a turbocharged engine that delivers a lot of power. The price will slightly increase because the 2023MY will feature various changes. Without further ado, here’s a closer look at the latest refreshments.
Acura RDX Redesign
We don’t expect to see significant changes on the new 2023 Acura RDX. Instead, the manufacturer opted for various minor updates. Thanks to that, the RDX crossover will gain a couple of interesting improvements. For a start, the RDX model wears a recognizable design language and is also known for its floating roof. Still, this is nothing new as the rest of the brand’s crossovers are looking basically the same.
The 2023MY will introduce a bolder design as most of the changes are already present on the MDX model. Everything about this crossover looks attractive and modern. We’d recommend the A-Spec package to everyone. This package comes with larger 20-inch wheels, a sportier presence, and additional darker exterior elements.
Interior Refreshments
As before, the 2023 Acura RDX will offer two rows of seats and a room for five passengers. The platform is the same, which means the vehicle’s dimensions will remain intact. This means the interior won’t offer more room, as some rumors suggested. However, the RDX crossover will gain various cabin updates. For a start, Acura will try to raise the level of comfort with more plush materials.
Moreover, we expect to see a new infotainment system and additional driver-assistance features. The current model offers an impressive 10.2-inch touchscreen and some impressive standard amenities. That includes dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, panoramic moonroof, and much more. The interior room is good and RDX provides 80 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded flat.
Engine Specs
In terms of performance, the new 2023 Acura RDX won’t gain any sort of improvement. This crossover is known for its good performances, sportier handling, and nice ride quality. A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine is available once again. This mill is capable of producing 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Acura offers a 10-speed automatic transmission, along with the standard front-wheel-drive system.
The all-wheel-drive setup is optional once again and it comes with Acura’s Super Handling system. The stop/start feature is present for two years now and it slightly improves fuel efficiency. The RDX crossover can tow 1,500 pounds, which is less than Lexus NX and its 2,000-pound towing capacity.
2023 Acura RDX Release Date, Price
As you can see, the 2023 Acura RDX will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. Thanks to that, the price will now start at around $40,000, which is a small increase. This model is very similar to the MDX variant so if you want something more unique, you should avoid RDX crossover. On the other hand, if you want luxury and good performances, then RDX is the right answer. The sales will start by the end of the current year.
