The upcoming 2023 BMW X5 will reach the markets with another mid-cycle refresh. The X5 SUV already looks handsome but the latest visual upgrades will deliver an even better appearance. We don’t know what will happen with the interior and its changes. Moreover, performance is another mystery. However, we know the exterior will surely gain a couple of visual improvements.
X5 is one of the best models in its segment and this model comes with superb handling. The performances are already great so it will be interesting to see what will happen under the bonnet. The German manufacturer will release its new SUV later in 2021 and here’s everything we know so far.
BMW X5 Wears New Odd Grille
As we said, the 2023 BMW X5 will surely gain a more handsome appearance. This SUV is already one of the best-looking models in its class. However, the German manufacturer will introduce some major updates. From what we know, a new grille is in the works. The last 4-Series coupe concept has been unveiled with exactly the same grille. The X5 and X7 models are offering massive grilles at the moment. As for the concept, it comes with sportier and taller air inlets.
The renderings are showing how the new X5 could look like. We are focused on the front fascia because this SUV will get a new face. The kidney grilles are sitting taller now and a brand-new lower bumper is also available. We are waiting for the first spy shots to appear in the coming weeks. After that, we are going to find out what will happen with the rest of the exterior.
Interior Updates
The interior of the new 2023 BMW X5 will continue with the same layout. That means the X5 remains a three-row SUV with room for seven occupants. Dimensions won’t change so the cabin space is also unchanged. Still, this is a very roomy and comfortable mid-size SUV. The interior is full of premium materials and features. However, we don’t know which updates is BMW going to introduce.
Some reports are predicting a new and larger touchscreen, along with the updated infotainment. Moreover, we should expect more driver-assistance. On the other hand, things such as the Sky Lounge panorama roof and the steering wheel will carry over. Lastly, the X5 SUV offers up to 72.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
Gasoline and Hybrid Specs
Under the bonnet, the 2023 BMW X5 will probably remain. That means this SUV will offer a standard six-cylinder engine with 340 hp once again. However, if you want something more powerful, the 50i model comes with a larger 4.4-liter V8. This proven engine is capable of producing 462 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. The high-performance X5 M variant will arrive once again. However, the highlight of the X5 SUV is its hybrid model.
The X5 Hybrid will get a 3.0-liter engine that replaces a smaller 2.0-liter unit. The new engine will produce around 285 horses, and the electric motor will add 112 hp. Total output is rated at 395 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. All models will use the same eight-speed automatic transmission and the X5 Hybrid will deliver around 50 miles of all-electric range.
2023 BMW X5 Release Date and Price
The price of the all-new 2023 BMW X5 will slightly increase. The arriving model will now start at around $60,000. Moreover, the hybrid variant will cost above $70,000. The sales will begin later in 2021 and BMW X5 will once again rival Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
