2022 Ford F 350: Super Duty Review, Specs, Price and Release Date [Update]

2022 Ford F 350 In the world of heavy-duty trucks, enthusiasts want to know more about the new Ford Super Duty 2022. Whether you are looking for information on the Ford F-250 2022 or Ford F-350 2022, we have the detailed information you are looking for.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming Super Duty Series and evaluate engine options, configuration, interior design, performance, and crane capacity, among other key specifications.

The Tremor Pack adds a few off-road enhancements. Owners get 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, 18-inch matte black wheels, two-inch front end lift, shorter air dam, 10.8 inches of ground clearance, plus 33 inches of water wading capability.

For the Tremor Package, there are several suspension upgrades, a rear stabilizer bar, and 1.7-inch twin-tube damper pistons for a superior ride.

With a variety of cabins, configurations, and engine options, the Ford Super Duty specs represent a wide range of crane ratings.

This heavy-duty Ford truck can handle a payload of 7,850 pounds at the higher end of the spectrum, tow up to 24,200 pounds with a trailer hitch, and tow 37,000 pounds with a fifth-wheel combined with a gooseneck hitch.

Heavy-duty trucks are more powerful and capable than ever, and the Ford Super Duty 2022 currently holds the torque and crane crown. Its Power Stroke diesel engine produces 1,050 lb-ft of torque, and the strongest model can pull 37,000 pounds.

Those two stats are slightly better than the Ram HD version and the heavy-duty version of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. While best-in-class accolades are good for advertising and bragging rights, the Super Duty works best to be a multipurpose truck that can be configured as a stripped workstation or a fancy crane and everything in between.

Along with the diesel engine options, there’s the standard 6.2-liter V-8 petrol producing 430 lb-ft of torque or the optional 7.3-liter gas V-8 producing 475 lb-ft. All of that capability, plus a myriad of modern technology and an apartment-sized crew cabin, makes it easy to see past the cheap passages and clumsy road habits.

With a variety of cabin and cargo bed configurations, Super Duty has a wide range of maximum towing and payload capacities. Each version offers generous ratings in both categories, but Ford fans who want the most impressive numbers will appreciate that the strongest Super Duty can carry a payload of 7850 pounds, tow up to 24,200 pounds on a conventional trailer hitch, and carry a massive 37,000 pounds on its fifth wheel and gooseneck hitch.

Super Duty has only seen a few updates for the 2022 model year. All models are now available in Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, and Lithium Gray.

On the base model with dual rear axles, the XL Power Equipment package adds a trailer-crane rearview mirror with heated glass and a fold-and-telescope that can be adjusted manually. All Super Duty models can now be equipped with a step bed as well.

Ford F 350 Super Duty Specs

Each variant is available with one of three engines: a 6.2 liter V8 (385 horsepower, 430 lb-ft of torque), a 7.3 liter V8 (430 hp, 475 lb-ft), or a turbocharged 6.7 liter V8 diesel ( 475 hp, 1,050 lb-ft). Unlike the F -250, the F-350 pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission with all three engines.

Alongside its rival Ram 3500 and Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, the 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty is bringing power to the pickup market. The 2020 Ford F-350 is very similar to the F-250 in design and propulsion character. They have the same powered engine options and generally the same standard and optional features. The biggest difference is the F-350’s upgradeability.

This year’s Super Duty features a new engine and transmission combo that now provides more than 24,000 pounds of conventional trailer towing capacity. Then you have a cabin full of technological conveniences, such as voice-controlled infotainment and Wi-Fi hotspots, available leather interiors, even cooled front seats, and ambient lighting. One thing is for sure: Today’s heavy-duty trucks no longer need to be confined to a job site.

Super Duty also gets a new off-road package called Tremor, which is a step up from the existing FX4 package. The Tremor package update starts with a 2-inch front lift and a shorter air dam, followed by 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac all-terrain tires. It also includes a reset suspension, improved shock absorbers, locking rear differential, limited-slip front differential, rock crawl mode, and low-speed cruise control. The slip plates of the FX4 package are also included.

In total, the 2020 F-350 continues the trend of delivering a friendly and accessible experience for heavy-duty trucks. Sure, you have a choice. The twins of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD have been redesigned for 2020, and Ram was redesigned for 3500 last year. But while the Ford F-350 Super Duty isn’t the freshest choice, it’s still an attractive option if you want a truck that can do anything.

2022 Ford F 350 Interior

Our Super Duty F-Series review shows that not many changes have come with the 2022 model compared to the 2022 model year. Super Duty 2022 saw some significant exterior changes and the introduction of the 7.3L Godzilla V8 and the famous off-road Tremor Pack.

2022 Ford F 350 Ford F-350 Super Duty models are available with a 6.2 L-liter flex-fuel (FFV) engine or a 6.7 L-liter diesel engine, with output up to 475 hp, depending on engine

In 2022, you will be able to choose from several new options and stepping beds, i.e. fixtures not available in the previous year. There are also several new color options to choose from as well.

The new Super Duty models include an eight-inch touchscreen, infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, plus a Wi-Fi hotspot. However, there are plenty of technologies to upgrade, including ten Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers and a SiriusXM Radio.

With the purchase of a new Super Duty, you can choose a Regular, SuperCab, or SuperCrew cabin configuration. Each truck cabin changes the length of the Ford Super Duty and the total seating capacity. There are two interior color choices – Stone Gray or Java with Unique King Ranch Leather.

2022 Ford F 350 Exterior

Not many updates are expected with the exterior of the Ford Super Duty 2022. We may see some new color choices, but there are already 11 different colors. Some new paint colors can replace some of the old options.

Currently, you can get a new Ford Super Duty in Oxford White, Magnetic, Blue Jeans, Race Red, Iconic Silver, Rapid Red, Star White, Stone Gray, Velocity Blue, Agate Black, or Silver Spruce. Owners can still choose from 17-, 18-, 19.5-, or 20-inch wheels.

The new 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty, now on sale in Colorado Springs, is unlike the Super Duty that came before it. We thought it would be helpful to give an in-depth review of Super Duty 2022.

The new Super Duty comes with a lot of abilities, strengths, and styles that are worth talking about. Let’s take an in-depth look at the 2022 Ford Super Duty payload, specifications, crane capacity, engine options, and configurations. We will also look at the differences between the 2022 vs 2021 Ford Super Duty models and the F-250 vs F-350 vs F-450 models.

2022 Ford F 350 Engine

Both the 2022 F-250 and 2022 Ford F-350 are equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine of 385 horsepower. The motor is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, but there is also a ten-speed automatic.

Together with the horsepower of the F-250 Super Duty, you can choose rear or four-wheel drive. Customers can choose from other engine options, such as the Ford Super Duty Diesel 2022, which adds a 6.7 liter V8 Power Stroke that produces 475 horsepower. Alternatively, choose a 430 horsepower 7.3 liter V8 gas engine instead.

2022 Ford F 350 Super Duty

Ford F350 2022, The Ford Super Duty F-350 is a full-size heavy-duty pickup truck. It comes in six trims: LX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. It can be configured as a regular cabin, an extended cabin (aka SuperCab), or a crew cabin with a bed length of 6.8 or 8.2 feet.

Unlike the F-250, the F-350 pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission with all three engines.

The XL keeps it’s basic, with black steel bumpers, steel wheels, and manual door locks. Not everything is analog: Sync infotainment with a 4.2-inch center screen, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot (Ford Pass Connect), and a rearview camera are standard. The XLT adds essential safety equipment such as blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. You also get an upgraded Sync 3 system with an 8-inch touch screen.

2022 Ford F 350 Lariat

2022 F350 Platinum

2022 Ford F350 Platinum F350 2022, Platinum entered the rare territory. It introduces standard adaptive cruise control and LED headlights, plus a power running board. At the top of the line is Limited. It comes with a four-wheel drive and a 6.7-liter diesel engine, plus a panoramic sunroof and two-tone leather interior.

2022 Ford F 350 XL Specs, Trims & Colors. Change Trim. Showing the 2021 Ford F-350 XL 4x2 SD Regular Cab 8 ft. box 142 in. 475-hp, 6.7-liter V-8 (diesel)

What’s new for 2020 is the off-road-oriented Tremor package, with large tires, a dedicated front suspension, and a variety of rock and terrain crawl modes.

With a tall pickup truck like this, you may need to climb stairs. The 2022 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum offers a spreadable running board with extended power when your vehicle door opens and retracts when closed. The retract helps to keep your truck aerodynamic and keeps it from getting damaged when you drive through tight spaces.

The 2022 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum also offers the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System, which includes a 360 camera and a CHMSL (Center High Mount Stop Light) camera. Cameras located around the truck give you a 360-degree view on all sides, by combining the provided images into a single view.

The Rear View Camera provides you with guidance on the center dashboard view, so you can easily reverse to the correct position to anchor the truck to your trailer. Plus, Pro Trailer Backup Assist can help you reverse with your trailer attached. You can steer your trailer by turning the instrument panel knob left or right to indicate where you want to go, then the system will control the steering needed to get it there.

The Ford Super Duty F-250, redesigned in 2017, is a heavy-duty pickup that has the basic styling of its little brother, the F-150 in some of its aluminum body panels. The F-250 was larger and boxier and had more steel in its full box frame, which was made dramatically stiffer in the redesign. It can pull or carry an astounding load. It can also carry up to six people wrapped in leather and bathe in a quality wood.

Ford calls it Super Duty, but remember there are also F-350 and F-450 (they aren’t called Hyper Duty and Uber Duty). As well as the heavy-duty Ford truck, rivals for the F-250 include the Chevy Silverado 2500, GMC Sierra 2500, Ram 2500, and Nissan Titan XD.

For 2019, the only change is that CD players have been removed from all models, as the world switches to another format.

The two Super Duty engines are very different from the six F-150 engines. The base engine is a large 6.2-liter V-8 producing 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet, while the upgraded engine is a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 producing 440 hp and 925 lb-ft of torque.

The F-250 is rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available. Both engines use a 6-speed automatic transmission, but the turbodiesel transmission is more powerful. This vehicle can cover 1,000 miles on a fuel tank, and tow 32,000 pounds. Little catch there: you need to have a commercial license.

The EPA does not perform fuel mileage testing on trucks of this site, nor are manufacturers required to submit their own numbers. But if you calculate what Ford claims about 1,000 miles on a diesel fuel tank, using the optional remote tank, you get 20 road miles per gallon. We know, a big leap of faith, to buy it.

Neither NHTSA nor IIHS have tested Super Duty extensively. But the NHTSA gave it a five-star side-impact rating for the crew cabin model, as well as a worrying three stars in tipping resistance.

The Super Duty pickup gets some of the active safety features found in passenger cars, such as blind-spot monitors and adaptive cruise control – as optional equipment. Automatic emergency braking is not available but must be provided.

Super Duty comes in stripped XL trim, plus XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. Ford sells it with two different bed lengths, two powertrains, three cabin styles, two wheelbases, and at least seven rear axle ratios. The three cabins are the Regular Cab, with two doors and a small folding rear seat; SuperCab, with a narrow rear-hinged door; and the Crew Cab, with four full doors and a rear seat.

The XL is very basic, with vinyl seats and floorboards, manual windows and manual door locks, and no Bluetooth. It does have air conditioning. With the Regular Cab, the bed is 8 feet longer and two-wheel drive, it costs $ 33,150, as cheap as the F-250 gets. It might be cheaper, if available with a 6ft 9in bed, but this isn’t – the only model a shorter bunk can’t have.

With the Crew Cab, 8ft and 4wd bed, the XL are $ 39,750. So that’s $ 6,500 to get 4WD and a full-size rear seat, with seating for five or six. The price difference is greater for some models, less for others.

The XLT adds cloth seats, power windows and locks, and a basic infotainment system with digital displays. With the Regular Cab, 8ft bed, and 2WD, it costs $ 37,365.

Luxury starts to come into play with Lariat. It has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, and power-adjustable pedals. Prices range from $ 46,140 to $ 51,860.

King Ranch trucks add their own western-themed trim and their own leather class, premium audio, heated and cooled front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. From $ 55,610 to $ 58,805.

The Platinum gets 20-inch wheels, B&O Play audio, a power running board, and satin-metallic trim. This amounts to $ 63,535. With options, it could go up to $ 80,000.

There’s something throwback about the style that we just can’t wear. Super Duty seems to be moving boldly into the future while respecting its legacy.

It bears a strong resemblance to the smaller F-150, especially in the headlamps that mimic the C-shaped theme. But the F-250 is bigger and the folds are sharper, and the distinctive square fender flare is also unique.

The large grille weighs down on the truck from several angles. It has black bars on the lower models, chrome on the mid-sized models, perforated chrome on the Platinum. The door handles are chrome plated and horizontal, which together with the black B-pillar make this big truck look less heavy. Platinum has a bright metal band on the back door and its name is printed on the hood.

The cabin of the F-250 is not quite as simple as those on some GM trucks, or cowboys like some Ram models. The cabin favors substance over style while striking a balance between comfort and flair. It can be fancy with wood and leather on the top trim, but it’s still about usability, with scratch-resistant plastic and rugged fabric on the bottom trim.

Even on the Platinum model, you can opt for vinyl trim, if you want all the convenient technology and active safety, but not the hassle of cleaning carpets. It makes sense for trucks that see a lot of mud, snow or get wet.

The upholstery on the XLT is comfortable and of high quality. The leather at Lariat is color-coordinated, and at King Ranch, it feels like an expensive saddle. Power seats are present in the top models, with a massage feature available. There is even a massage feature available. If that sounds valuable for a work truck, try pulling it for eight or 10 hours at a time.

Super Duty has the best and most versatile cargo bed in the business, measuring 6-feet-9 or 8 feet. This is the F-150 which has a short 5ft 6ft bunk, for lighter duty requirements.

The four-door Crew Cab has enough rear-seat room for 6 feet, even for threes. The seats fold down to create a large amount of cargo space. The Regular and SuperCab cabs get a small rear seat that also folds down.

The center console on all F-250s is wide and deep. With the front bench seat, it reverses from the center back; and with the front bucket seat, the large console offers excellent storage space for all of the driver’s belongings, while also being a sturdy housing for the laptop. This can be a mobile office, making it a favorite for contractors.

Convenience features include a camera aimed at the tailgate, useful for attaching a gooseneck. An optional crane camera setup uses four cameras for a 360-degree view of the truck’s surroundings. Backup is reduced somewhat with the visual cues of trailer reverse guidance on the rearview camera. Also available: a trailer camera, useful when backing up. Cameras in all directions, seven are all told.

With a 6.2-liter V-8 engine producing 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the F-250 can carry 7,680 pounds of cargo in a bunk bed.

The 6.7-liter turbodiesel produces 440 horsepower and 925 foot-pounds of torque at 6 speeds that are more powerful, smooth, and quiet at cruising speeds.

The F-250 is not very difficult to drive on the road, despite having truly truck-like handling characteristics. If you don’t need towing or cargo-carrying capacity, the F-150 might make more sense. You can get an 8-foot high bunk on the F-150 if that’s what you need.

Ford says the chassis was made 24 times stiffer when it was redesigned in 2017, which makes for a smooth and quiet ride, especially with the suspension tuned to take advantage of the stiff chassis.

As for handling, adaptive variable-ratio steering gives the truck significantly more maneuverability at low speeds and reduces jitters at high speeds, by accelerating the steering at low speeds and slowing it down at high speeds. This allows parking in narrower spaces and makes driving on the highway more relaxed.

The F-250 short-bunk model (with a shorter wheelbase) does an excellent job of towing a bumper pull trailer and can also handle heavy goosenecks. They are fairly stable, much better than the F-150 or other light-duty pickups.

Adaptive cruise control is available for use even when towing heavy trailers. All the latest safety features are available, including tire pressure monitoring for trailers, blind-spot monitor that will function for trailers up to 33 feet long, lane warning, and forward-collision warning.

The Ford F-250 is the ultimate crane rig that can pull up to 32,000 pounds – and does it all with a massage chair and touchscreen infotainment.

2022 Ford F 350: 2022 F350 Dually

2022 Ford F350, If your need for a truck falls between extreme heavy duty and full commercial, the Ford F-350 is for you. Available in three cabin styles, two bed lengths, and with single or double rear wheels, the F-350 can be made into a variety of configurations. Also, there are various trim levels and three V-8 engine options. As a workhorse, the F-350 provides immense crane and haul capability.

    • The trim topping range is almost six digits long
    • Design is starting to look old-fashioned
    • Travel is not peaceful when the bed is empty

It’s no surprise that the F-350 has such extraordinary capabilities. With its rugged powertrains – including the most powerful and most powerful diesel plant in its segment – and an extremely built frame, the F-350 makes towing and carrying heavy loads easy.

What’s even more surprising is how good the F-350 vehicle itself is. This is inevitably a gigantic heavy-duty truck – and if we’re honest, most MotorTrend editors prefer the heavy-duty Ram’s interior and exterior styling – but Ford steers quite well considering its size. The quality and overall execution are good, and the high-end trim levels are a real luxury (and the price is right). The F-350, a former Truck of the Year winner, remains a major contender for heavy-duty pickup truck buyers.

All F-350 engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and drive the rear wheels as standard or optional 4WD.

The base engine is 6.2-liter V-8 petrol producing 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, 7.3-liter V-8 petrol producing 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque is available.

If you’re looking for diesel, the F-350 offers the most powerful turbodiesel engine in its segment. It is a 6.7-liter engine producing 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. This engine should run around 7.2 seconds from 0-60 mph.

The F-350 can be equipped with active driver assistance and safety features including front automatic emergency braking, trailer shake control, trailer-covered blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree view camera system.

  • Bedside rests are offered from entry-level XL trim to Platinum trim
  • Manually adjustable tow mirrors are optional on the dual models in the XL trim
  • New exterior paint color options added

The F-350 model in a crew cabin, long bunk, 4WD configuration has the lowest payload at around 2,890 pounds. The F-350 can carry the heaviest loads in a regular cabin, long bunk, RWD, dual model, with a maximum weight of 7,850 pounds.

The crew-cabin model with 4WD and the 6.2-liter gas engine has the lowest tow capacity of the F-250 range, 12,300 pounds bumper towing. Some configurations with the Powerstroke diesel engine are rated to pull up to 21,200 pounds.

For the gooseneck or fifth-wheel tow, the capacity is 12,000 pounds in the crew cabin, 4WD, the lowest 6.2-liter gas V-8 model. In the upscale, regular cabin, RWD, diesel model can dually pull out an incredible 35,750 pounds.

On the basic trim, the F-350 includes a 4.2-inch infotainment screen and a cluster gauge display, which are meant to control the vehicle’s basic functions.

The higher trim comes with an 8.0-inch cluster gauge screen and infotainment touchscreen, which adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; built-in navigation is available.
