The upcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 is coming to the dealerships by the end of the year. It is one of the best-selling and most reliable pickup trucks in America. For 2023, Chevrolet will introduce plenty of refreshments. Interestingly, but the updates are almost the same as on the Sierra model. As before, Silverado 1500 will continue its rivalry with Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 models.
The good thing about Silverado pickup is that it offers both gasoline and diesel engines. Moreover, a hybrid variant is a must as the biggest competitors are also working on the electrification. Whatsoever, Ford is almost ready to introduce an all-electric F-150. Thanks to the latest changes, Silverado will remain competitive, and it will be a significantly improved vehicle, overall.
2023 Silverado 1500 Gets Minor Visual Improvements
As we already said, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will get a lot of updates. However, it is not a redesign but a mid-cycle refreshment. Some visual upgrades are not that easy to spot. For a start, bodywork looks better than before. Chevrolet will offer new and optional moonroof. Features such as CarbonPro box and MultiPro tailgate will remain. The front fascia wears more chrome accents, and some features are enlarged.
As a result, the front part looks more upright and more modern. The manufacturer said that new Silverado will wear more aluminium, so vehicle’s weight should be reduced. That will improve fuel efficiency, but not significantly. The architecture is the same, but it is a modified platform that can accommodate a hybrid system. As for the side profile and rear section, we didn’t spot any major change.
Serious Interior Changes
The interior of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will suffer more major updates. GM plans to introduce the same upgrades both in Sierra and Silverado models. The goal is to deliver more modern design with additional high-tech features. On top of that, customers should expect a higher level of comfort. The cabin definitely looks more upscale than before.
Silverado offers an SUV-like interior with plenty of technology in it. However, the interior room is generous, and the cabin is practical as before. All of the trim levels should get the same or similar updates. Chevy plans to offer larger storage bins and a new infotainment system. Furthermore, the larger display will be offered as standard.
Gasoline, Diesel Hybrid Powertrains
Under the hood, new 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 shouldn’t introduce any updates. However, a hybrid powertrain is certain, but we’ll get to that part. A 5.3-liter V8 remains standard engine choice with 355 horsepower. Moreover, this engine delivers up to 380 lb-ft of torque. A 6.2-liter V8 is optional, and it cranks out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard in the Silverado SS version.

A 3.0-liter diesel is also in the offer, which is great to hear. A hybrid variant will surely happen. According to various reports, Silverado Hybrid will mix 4.3-liter V6 gasoline with hybrid components. That includes a pair of electric motors and the battery pack. Potent V6 delivers 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. However, electric motors should improve these figures, and Silverado Hybrid will be rated at around 30 mpg combined.
2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will now start at around $33,000. The price increased, but not drastically. As for the rumored hybrid model, it will cost almost $40,000. Chevrolet is building its new model in the Michigan plant. After that, the sales will start later in 2022.
