One of the most compact pickup trucks, the new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton, is about to gain some significant upgrades. Basically, the most exciting rumor is that a hybrid powertrain might be offered as well. For 2023, Triton will also receive some small design modifications that will bring it closer to the L200 model.

Generally, Mitsubishi plans to deliver numerous visual updates inside, and to make this pickup more comfortable. Moreover, we can also expect a vast of high-tech features. The reason for such a radical move is the Ram Dakota pickup truck’s return, which is the main rival of the Triton. Mitsubishi recently stated that we should expect facelifted version at some point during next year.

In terms of design, the front fascia of the upcoming model will get some small refreshments. The front will look more modern, and Triton will get a slightly enlarged grille and headlights. The side profile will remain, and the rear part will be more attractive with the new LED taillights.

The cabin of the forthcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will be stylish, with lots of high-tech. According to some gossips, we should also expect the same dose of luxury as we used to see on the popular L200 truck. The current model offers a best in the class cabin with a solid list of standard features. However, for 2023, we can expect even more high-tech amenities and better comfort. On top of that, Triton will provide a much longer list of standard features through trim levels.

The seating layout will largely remain, and the double cab offers a class-leading room for three extra passengers behind. As we stated, the Triton will probably come with the same color LCD Multi-Information Display and the 7-inch touch-sensitive screen as we saw on the L200 model.

As we stated, the most exciting news is that the hybrid system will finally power the all-new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton. However, we don’t know the exact specifications at this point, but official details will become available soon.

As for conventional engines, the new pickup truck will most likely continue to be powered by a 2.3-liter dCi unit, providing much better efficiency. Moreover, Mitsubishi also offers an optional 2.4-liter turbodiesel that generates 180 hp and 340 lb-ft of torque. Both conventional engines will use a six-speed automatic transmission and electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system.

The redesigned version of the 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will bring more changes than the previous generation. Early reports reveal that it would introduce more modern styling, better cabin, and more advanced techs.

Also, the highlight on the offer will be definitively the new hybrid powertrain. We should expect this pickup to arrive at some point during next year, starting at around $35,000. The manufacturer will release more details in the coming months.
