The upcoming 2023 Fiat Fullback will arrive on the global markets once again. However, this could be the last year of the production, numerous sources reported. The thing is that the sales are poor and Fullback currently lacks plenty of things. For that reason, new Fullback could introduce more important updates in order to stay competitive at least.
Fullback is a product of the Fiat-Mitsubishi alliance and Fullback is available in those countries where Mitsubishi L200 isn’t. It seems like the Italian manufacturer will give one last chance to its Fullback pickup and hopefully, Fiat will succeed in that.
Fiat Fullback Redesign
The new model will get significant styling upgrades. The 2023 Fiat Fullback will try to offer something new and hopefully manage more sales. For a start, this pickup will now look closer to the Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck. However, some parts of the exterior are all-new and unique.
The new platform is a possibility but Fiat didn’t confirm this yet. Architecture that is rumored is the one that underpins the new Nissan Navara. Most likely, Fullback will arrive as a four-door model with a larger cargo area. The front part will host sharper details and the rear fascia will introduce new taillights. Lastly, Fullback will slightly grow in size.
Interior Gets Drastic Changes
Fiat will also look to improve interior design. That also includes a higher level of comfort and more tech. Basically, the new 2023 Fiat Fullback will be heavily refreshed for 2023. The previous version was totally out of date and its list of equipment is far from impressive or even regular. For that reason, new Fullback will introduce a more stylish interior with more room and more tech. Displays are larger and a 7-inch touchscreen should be offered as standard.

Italian manufacturer also worked on a new infotainment system with the latest phone integrations and more. Fullback should gain higher safety ratings thanks to the newest driver-assistance aids. These aids will be offered across all trim levels and on some levels, the systems will be standard. As for the base model, standard cloth upholstery remains but expect more high-quality materials. According to our sources, a double cab variant will be in the offer for 2023.
New Engine is a Must
Most likely, a new model will introduce an all-new engine. The 2023 Fiat Fullback will deploy a 2.4-liter four-cylinder for sure. This unit is currently available in the Mitsubishi L200 pickup and it generates 180 hp. Moreover, this engine can produce up to 320 lb-ft of torque. Still, Fullback will most likely get a new V6 powertrain that should be optional.
The goal is to deliver more horses and to provide a smoother ride. Most importantly, the new V6 will work perfectly with the new platform. Expect over 200 horsepower and over 250 lb-ft of twisting power from the new engine. Some rumors are suggesting one of the Nissan’s engines, such as 2.5-liter or 3.0-liter variants.
2023 Fiat Fullback Price and Release Date
As we said, Fiat will give Fullback another try. For that reason, we don’t believe that the 2023 Fiat Fullback will cost more than its predecessor.
The price that starts below $30,000 is a must for this pickup truck. The sales will start later in 2022, in Europe, Asia, and even Africa. Of course, arrival in the United States is not on the cards.
