2022 Ford F150 from the information we got recently, 2022 Ford F150 Electric got a new rendering based on some insider information – giving us our best look at the upcoming electric pickup truck.
This is very interesting to discuss. Because of this we try to review it as best we can what we have got.
In the previous year when Ford announced electric cars in 2018, Ford announced plans to “bring 16 battery-electric vehicles to market” starting with an all-electric CUV with a range of 300 miles, which became the Mustang Mach-E.
But the carmaker is still more focused on hybrids than electric vehicles.
The most important vehicle program, the F150 pickup truck, should only get a hybrid powertrain in 2020, but the landscape has changed a lot.
Last year, Ford finally confirmed that it planned to bring the all-electric version of the F150 to the market.
They launched a prototype version of an electric pickup truck that pulled more than 1 million lbs of trains and confirmed plans to bring the production version to market by 2022.
At that time, Ford was expected to update the design of the F150 pickup truck lineup and now we see what the 2022 Ford F150 Electric looks like.
2022 Ford F-150 Changes: See Some Exciting Changes And Updates
The pickup truck war is not for the faint of heart. Or even somewhere in the middle. So much is asked of customers in this space (which may explain why American millionaires choose trucks over all other types of vehicles), and the Ford F-150 continues to represent the pinnacle of this space. Based on sales, at least. And thanks to the official Ford F-150 2022 dealer ordering guide shared on the F150Gen14 forum, we can see content changes for the new model year.
2022 Ford F-150: 2022 F150 Changes And Additions From 2021
Starting at the end of the model year and rolling into 2022, Ford has phased out the 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel engine, which makes 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque with a towing capacity of 12,100 pounds. Customers can still get two options EcoBoost V6 and Coyote 5.0L V8 for their F-150 pickup truck, as well as the powerful and efficient PowerBoost hybrid.
Additionally, Ford has given customers the option of getting their trucks at Atlas Blue. They also removed Guard, Kodiak Brown, and Lead Foot from the color options. Apart from changes to the packages available for the F-150, nothing else has changed from the 2021 model. Here’s what the new or changed package looks like:
- New STX Black Appearance Package – optional on the High XL
- New XLT Black Appearance Package – optional on XLT mid and high
- New Lariat Black Appearance Pack – optional on High
- New Platinum Black Appearance Package – optional in 2022 Ford F150 Platinum
- New Bed Utility Package – optional for XL, XLT, Lariat King Ranch, Platinum and Tremor; included in King Ranch and Platinum; standard on Limited
We can also see the arrival of the highly anticipated Ford F-150 Raptor R for the 2022 model year, which could have 760 horsepower from the supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 engine found in the S550 Mustang Shelby GT500.
This will more than increase the competition with the Ram TRX in the off-road performance truck space. At the same time, production of the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning will begin next year as well. We will share more information about both trucks as they become available.
2022 F150 Changes What you need to know is Details about the new F-150 and F-150 Raptor engines, exterior styling, interior trim, and more.
Switching to solid aluminum bodies for the latest generation of trucks was an enormous undertaking that required major repairs in production facilities and workshops.
Ford is taking small steps this time. The Sheetmetal F-150 will retain the same shape but will carry a revised nose and new headlights.
The clever eye may also notice a different taillight, but overall this redesign looks more like a mid-term refresh than a generational transformation.
Ford F150 Redesign 2022, The changes inside should be clearer. Trying to capture the luxurious interiors of the Ram, Ford’s Limited, King Ranch and Platinum models will feature more premium materials and points of contact.
An 8.0-inch infotainment screen comes as standard, while the optional 15.5-inch display gets frame rates for the Instagram generation. Both work with Sync 4, the latest brand software.
Ford will offer a powertrain for each buyer, with five engines going over the current F-150. Ignore all the rumors about the DOHC 4.8 liter V-8. It shares 5.0 liters of life and more parts with the Mustang’s V-8.
It includes four V-6s, 2.7 and 3.5 liters, 3.0-liter turbo diesel, and two twin-turbo engines that replace the naturally aspirated 3.3 liters. All 10 speed is automatically supported.
2022 Ford F150 Redesign, Ford will also offer a hybrid with an electric motor sandwiched between a V-6 and a 10-speed automatic.
In addition to the increased fuel economy, the hybrid engine will double as a generator for electricity, lighting, and other electronic equipment on construction sites and campsites.
If that’s not enough for you, Ford plans to introduce the electric truck a few years after the F-150’s launch.
Spy shots show that this version will replace the vibrant rear axle with an independent suspension.
As the GMC has already put forward a four-figure power figure for the Hummer EV SUT, we’re seeing a new battlefield emerging in Detroit’s never-ending truck battles.
And if Ford doesn’t call it Lightning, there is something wrong with Dearborn.
In the world of dirt and gas, destroying the desert, the Raptor would go from leaf to spiral on its active rear axle.
Rumor has it that the 760-hp supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 of the Mustang Shelby GT500 could also find its place under the hood.
We have faith on the horizon with the Hellcat-powered Rebel TRX 1500 Ram. The F-150 will be launched shortly in June with electric and Raptor models.
With more variants than ever before, the F-150 will range from $ 30,000 to around $ 100,000.

2022 F150 Interior
Few automotive events are more important to business than the launch of a redesigned Ford F-150.
The Mach-E Mustang and Bronco can grab the attention of enthusiasts, and are an important part of Ford’s future, but few vehicles are more important to the US auto industry than pickup trucks, and the Ford F-Series is a powerful sales champion in this regard. a popular and profitable segment.
While this isn’t a full head-to-toe redesign, the F-150 2022 receives a comprehensive powertrain overhaul, a new interior, and some new “hey, neat” type features that might sway buyers who would otherwise believe almost any truck can be used, provided the price tag.
And the ability to tick all the right boxes. You can get more in-depth detail on the Ford F-150 in our launch day coverage, but we’ll cover the highlights here for your convenience.
While the 2022 F-150 has been revamped, it doesn’t look much different from the previous model.
The changes are more noticeable on the inside, where a new steering wheel and a cleaner center stack highlight several other minor changes.
The obvious update here is Ford’s fourth-generation Sync infotainment system, which received some serious hardware upgrades to improve its performance via Sync 3.
Most notably is the giant 12-inch touchscreen available, although our timing with it prevents an in-depth review (well, other than reporting that it is the length of the reach from the driver’s seat to the screen’s right side)
Ford is also bringing in some cool new exterior threats, such as a redesigned rear door that now offers a flat work surface available with a built-in clamp pocket and bottle opener.
There’s also outside zone lighting available (allowing you to light up just the space you work – or play in) along with an in-bed power system that blows out whatever you’ve seen from a factory pickup.
The Ford F-150 2022 is a completely redesigned truck, delivering the 14th generation of the country’s best-selling vehicles. However, things weren’t all that different.
In contrast to the full, ground-up, aluminum-bodied reimagining of the previous generation, Ford has largely stuck to its evolutionary approach this time around.
2022 Ford F150 Interior, Many can’t detect a lot of subtle styling updates, but there’s still more visual variation for 2022 thanks to 11 different grille designs included with different trim levels and packages. The interior actually sees a more significant difference.
The dimensions are the same, but there are new features, and the dashboard has been reshaped so that it can swallow up the colossal 12-inch touchscreen that was added to the list of options.
It’s basically a computer monitor. Both that and the standard 8-inch touchscreen also run Ford’s latest Sync 4 infotainment software.
There are also new bed features, including the correct power generator to plug your appliances into.
There are six engine offerings, although we are not sure of the exact specifications at the time of this writing.
The naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6 returns as the base engine and will likely produce something akin to 2020s 290 horsepower.
The same goes for the turbocharged 2.7-liter “EcoBoost” V6 engine, which made 325 horsepower last year.
Also returning is the 5.0-liter “Coyote” V8, which produces 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque by 2020 (we expect a slight upgrade for the ’21), and the 3.0-liter PowerStroke diesel that will likely continue to run basically isn’t. changed.
The 3.5-liter turbo V6 engine is back, but will only be offered in one tone condition.
Whether it will match any of the previous truck options (375- or 450 horsepower) or something different is unknown at the time of this writing.
We also don’t know what will happen to the Raptor. Most notably, there’s a new F-150 Hybrid that Ford promises to deliver class-leading power and torque (which translates to more than 420 hp and 480 lb-ft), while possibly restoring excellent fuel economy as well.
As usual, there are several body options. Regular cab and extended SuperCab come standard with a 6.5-foot box but can be selected up to 8 feet tall. The SuperCrew comes standard with a 5.5-foot case, but a 6.5-foot one is optional.
XL and XLT trim is available in all cabin styles, while the SuperCab ladder stops at Lariat. If you want King Ranch, Platinum, or Limited, you have to get the SuperCrew.
2022 Ford F150 6.8
The good news is a new 6.8-liter ford can land on ford mustang and f-150. The union president, Jerry Dias, announced this news during a press conference on September 22.
The union, Unifor, has bargained with Ford, resulting in a multibillion-dollar deal. The two sides have reached a three-year partnership agreement that will result in Ford’s $ 1.95 billion investment into Canadian operations.
About $ 1.8 billion of that will be used to retool Oakville operations to produce five new electric vehicles starting four years from now.
Dias gave no further details, but in his half-hour press conference, he mentioned the 6.8-liter V-8 several times. Unifor’s press release revealed the development of a new pushrod engine, but it was Dias who told us it would be 6.8 liters.
He even went on to say that the 6.8-liter engine would be used in the derivatives for the Mustang and F-150.
Does ford need a new v-8 when already having a 7.3-liter pushrod v-8? After Ford came up with the 5.2 liter V-8 for the Mustang Shelby GT500 that made 760 ponies and 625 pound-feet rounds, there wasn’t much hope for a bigger engine.
Some have speculated that the Godzilla engine was put under the hood for two big reasons.
First, it is slightly smaller than the 5.0 liter Coyote, and secondly the fact that Whipple is developing a new supercharger for this factory. Now, however, things seemed to be heading in a new direction.
Call it a psychological barrier, but the 6.X liter engine in the ‘car’ would be better. As Hagerty notes, the new Windsor plant could be an aluminum block as opposed to Godzilla’s iron construction, thus making it lighter too.
Although said to be used only on F-150 and Mustang derivatives, there may be a surprise application to this engine – the Bronco Warthog.
Ford has crushed all our hopes of seeing a V-8 under the hood of the factory Bronco, but the Bronco Warthog may be able to be powered by the factory’s new 6.8-liter V-8 pushrod. This is wild speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt.
New machines are always exciting and we can’t wait to hear more about them. While speculating as a V-8, it’s worth noting that Ford did offer a 6.8-liter V-10 in the past. So are we saying that it could be a V-10?

2022 Ford F150 Raptor
The 2022 MotorTrend Truck of the Year winner, the 702-hp Ram 1500 TRX, caught Ford a bit flat, and the third-generation F-150 Raptor didn’t come out of anywhere when the supercharged V 8 series went too far in the development rankings. correction.
So for 2022, the F-150 Raptor gets a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 engine equipped with light revisions and output figures that don’t cover most of 252 hp and 140 lb-ft (not yet finalized). The range according to TRX.
The job will go to Raptor R, which is expected to arrive in a year.
Powerful V-8 Approved for Raptor R
Ford F-150 marketing manager Brian Bell confirmed in an interview that the Raptor R will get a “powerful V-8”.
Well, which one? The Super Duty Godzilla V-8’s new 7.3-liter push stick engine is not a revver and therefore cannot match the thrilling Raptor.
Our Intel continues to show the truck version of the Mustang Shelby GT500 Predator 5.2-liter supercharged V-8.
At the Mustang, it’s rated at 760 hp and 625 lb-ft – these figures are comparable to the TRX’s 702 hp, 650 lb-ft.
But can we say the Raptor’s expected duty cycle is “very different” from that of Shelby’s Stang?
How Much Power Does Raptor R Need?
In an interview with CNBC on January 26, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis admitted that the Hellcat engine, the version that powers the Ram TRX, is an endangered species due to rising compliance costs.
It hopes to continue the Hellcat’s performance with smaller, more efficient, partially electric powertrains.
So, how much pressure is there for the Raptor to beat the TRX 2022 horsepower and torque figures, as we know the TRX is on its way out? A lighter aluminum body truck with a slightly lower output, two more transmission ratios, and a better-proven desert racing chop suspension could legally claim (or possibly even achieve) the advantage of crushing steel with 50 or fewer horses and pounds. . – feet? It can happen.
Especially if there is only a slight overlap between the best dog Raptor R and the 6.2-liter TRX. And don’t forget that we are waiting for Ford.
Raptor 37 TRX Triggered?
While the timing of the Ram TRX’s arrival means Ford doesn’t have time to prepare a competing V-8 engine for its launch, many believe an engineering program that will change the chassis, shocks, and tuning to fit the industry-leading 37-inch Raptor 2022. tires.
Package powered by TRX. With a 13.1-inch ground clearance versus TRX 11.8 and a 33.2 / 24.4 / 24.9-degree approach/break/break angle to the TRX 30.2, the Raptor 37 definitely outperforms the TRX on all major terrain measurements. / 21.9 / 23.5 degrees.
We don’t have a road trip index number yet, but even the Raptor’s rear spring is 0.4 inches longer than the TRX making it the longest in a production passenger car, so the Raptor can also be an articulation champion.
Best of the Series Raptor R or TRX?
Obviously, we expect Ford to equip the R with an interior that is at least as good as the 2022 Raptor 37, with all the sporting luxury it can bring inside the more aggressive bonnet and cabin.
That means Recaro seats with contrast stitching, real carbon. fiber trim, a wrapped instrument panel. and sewn, all-digital clusters and large infotainment displays, etc.
However, after sitting on the TRX a few days after tasting the Raptor 37, the Ram still stands out as a more curious and better interior.
We were eager to find out if Ford would fight the Ram / SRT performance well-being such as the Performance Pages app, launch control programming, and other items. We definitely hope so.
Will the Raptor R Road be Legal / Can it Be driven on Public Roads?
Despite reports to the contrary, yes, you can take the Raptor R anywhere you want, including local highways and highways.
Will The 2021 Ford Raptor Have A V8
We finally heard the flowing Ford F-150 Raptor 2021, Flowing unveiled on February 3, tested with a supercharged V-8 engine powered to take on the 1500 TRX 702 hp Ram.

2022 Ford F150 Limited
2022 F150 Limited Ford Motor Co. announced a redesign of its flagship F-150 pickup truck on Thursday, displaying a bolder body style and improved interior while retaining the same chassis as the previous generation.
Those willing to forego the top trim levels and Ford F-150 2021 options will get plenty of bells and whistles.
This includes features such as a center console that transforms into a table-like workspace, a rear door that doubles as a workbench, built-in power to operate power tools and rear closing equipment, an almost flat front seat, and an elevated airlift. system. hands-free driving.
Ford will sell the hybrid version of the F-150 for the first time.
Automaker Dearborn, Mich. Wants to make trucks more attractive to users and commercial fleets by offering a telematics platform that helps companies better manage and track their vehicles.
The new generation F-150 was Ford’s most important launch vehicle for many years.
It has been the best-selling vehicle in the US for 38 years, beating other popular trucks and passenger cars such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
Trucks form the basis of Ford’s business strategy. The top five models by revenue are the F-150 SuperCrew, F-250/350 Super Duty, Ranger pickup, Transit van and Focus sedan, according to Morgan Stanley Research.
These vehicles account for 43 percent of Ford’s revenue and 101 percent of automotive operating revenue.
Power Transmission 2022 Ford F150
Except for the hybrid model, the engine options are basically the same with some improvements. The base model comes with a 3.3-liter V6 engine.
Ford does not provide a power rating, but the current version provides 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The first upgrade is the same 2.7-liter turbocharged power plant offered in the current version.
The 2020 model has 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Its largest engine is the 5-liter V8 currently producing 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
Ford is including the cylinder deactivation feature in the V8 power plant to improve fuel economy.
However, the company did not provide a fuel efficiency rating. It will also be launched with an optional 3-liter diesel. All versions of the F-150 now have a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Hybrid
The F-150 hybrid powertrain combines a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a 35-kilowatt electric motor.
Ford said he believes the system will deliver the most torque and horsepower than any light-duty full-size turntable. This will provide about 12,000 pounds of towing capacity.
Ford said the hybrid’s estimated EPA range would be around 700 miles. However, it does not provide more specific fuel economy figures.
Most of the efficiency comes from an electric motor that captures regenerative braking energy to recharge the 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.
A battery is placed underneath to ensure that the truck has the same cabin and cargo space as other F-150 models.
Style
The Ford F-150 2021 bears a close resemblance to the current model. Wheelbase, length, and height are just a tiny part of the 2020 truck. Ford removed the wheels a bit to give this pickup a more aggressive stance.
Other exterior changes include an updated design of the headlights, a new power dome hood, and a wrap-around bumper. And there is a grill for every taste. The F-150 will have 11 grid options in its product range.
Ford reworked the interior to provide more storage space. He also said he has improved the cabin material for greater comfort. The XL model has an 8-inch touchscreen display that is rough twice the current screen size.
Ford also offers a standard 12-inch horizontal focus display on some XLTs and higher trim levels.
Power
Ford knows how much truck owners use their vehicles for building, opening the back door, camping, and other outdoor activities that require electric power.
Most truck owners overcome this problem by moving portable generators to the bed. Ford will sell Pro Power Onboard, a truck-made power system that replaces an external generator.
Pro Power Onboard is available with 2-kilowatt output on an optional gas engine. It comes standard with a 2.4-kilowatt output or optional 7.2-kilowatt output on hybrids.
Owners will be powered by a 240-volt 30-amp outlet in the 7.2-kilowatt version, from one socket in the cabin and up to four 20-amp 120-volt outlets mounted on the cargo bed. The system can also charge tools while driving.
Over Air
The F-150 will be the first light-duty receiver to have an electronic architecture designed to accept wireless updates. Ford has created a modular system that allows most updates to occur within minutes.
Some need to be programmed overnight or when the vehicle is not in use. The automaker said it will use the system for preventive maintenance, adjustments, and improvements to basic operations.
It will also improve some of the features built into truck electronics.
However, the automaker also said that additional features will be unlocked for an additional fee. Think of it as a truck with in-app purchases.
Automation
Ford plans to sell an update that will enable hands-free driving on more than 100,000 miles of pre-mapped roads in the US and Canada.
The system uses a camera facing the driver, which monitors the driver’s head position and eye view to monitoring whether the driver is ready to continue control of the vehicle. Otherwise, it slows down the vehicle and shuts down the system.
A driver will not be able to sleep or perform non-driving tasks while the system is running.
Still, they need to be careful with roads and traffic. It will be available in the third quarter of 2021, but will only be available in trim levels where the Ford Active Drive Assist Prep Pack is available, as equipment, standard or optional.
Technology Inside
The automaker equips the truck with the SYNC 4 infotainment system. He said the new SYNC is better at speech recognition than the previous generation.
It also provides wireless connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Another feature is 911 Assist, which automatically alerts emergency responders in the event of an accident.
There’s also FordPass, a mobile app that allows drivers to remotely start or unlock their vehicles.
Users can also control new track-focused features such as zone lighting, trailer theft alerts, trailer light controls, and onboard power systems.
Security
Ford offers forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking standards on new trucks.
This includes pedestrian detection. However, other important safety features such as blind-spot warnings and rear traffic alerts are options.
Other
The 2021 Ford F-150 will be produced by the Ford Dearborn Truck Factory in Dearborn, Michigan, and the Kansas City Assembly Factory in Mo Claycomo.
Ford did not provide pricing or fuel economy information. It goes on sale in the fall.
Internal Pro Power – 7.2kW

2022 Ford F150 Electric
Redesign Revealed With Hybrid Version and equipped with other Smart Features. Hybrid power, an onboard generator, and even a sleeper seat make the truck even more versatile.
The 2022 Ford F-150 doesn’t look like a dramatic leap. The clearest sign of the redesign, the extensively revised exterior, is absent.
Instead, designers took the Porsche 911 approach, applying evolutionary changes to the exterior while making major changes under the bitten and tucked skin.
There’s a hybrid powertrain with a range of up to 700 miles, an onboard generator available that can power anything from a comfortable outdoor movie night to a full-tilt construction site, a redesigned infotainment suite, advanced hands-free driver assistance, a desk, a sleeping chair, hidden equipment in the rear body, good zone lighting, revised interior design, and a smarter crane system. It’s in addition to everything that made the F-150 so popular.
But that fixture list only scratches the surface of the improvements Ford is making for bread and butter vehicles.
What’s New
The major addition for 2022 is the F-150’s first gas-electric powertrain, which Ford hopes 10 percent of its new trucks can carry. This hybrid powertrain, branded PowerBoost, pairs a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with a 35-kilowatt electric motor and a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery – this package easily pulls the Ram 1500.
The F-150 Hybrid has 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. As for durability, hybrids should be as strong as nails.
That tiny battery means limited electric range, although the new PowerBoost hybrid has to be the most powerful F-150 available by a practical margin. At the very least, it would be a respectable crane, with Ford promising a maximum towing of up to 12,000 pounds.
However, there are some doubts about this machine. It uses a design similar to the Ford Explorer Hybrid and Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring (plug-in hybrid), with an electric motor integrated into the transmission.
In our experience, the level of refinement, both in Ehe Xplorer and Aviator, is still lacking.
Often, the vehicle is unsure whether to reach the electric motor or gas engine, which results in unpleasant behavior, including sudden spikes in speed.
The new F-150 hybrid system should solve this problem with a revised transmission and additional calibration work on the part of Ford engineers, F-150 Engineering Manager Dawn Piechocki told Motor1.com.
Joining PowerBoost is Ford’s new Onboard Pro Power generator, which sounds like really good technology.
Basically, owners can use their trucks to power various electrical appliances via plugs in the bed.
The Pro Power Onboard is available with an electric capacity of up to 2.0 kW on the gas-only F-150, while the F-150 Hybrid comes with a standard 2.4 kW capacity or an optional 7.2 kW capacity.
The two standard settings are equipped with twin 120-volt outlets, while the 7.2 kW setting offers four 120 volt plugs and one 240 volt outlet.
Even the most unpowered setup can work admirably on the back door, with Ford claiming the Power Onboard 2.0-kW Pro system can manage electric heating, TV, portable speakers, mini-fridge, and blender at the same time.
On the high side, the 7.2 kW setting can power all the tools a construction crew might need to frame a home.
Joining the bunk-available Pro Power Onboard system is a fully lit box and back door with a proverbial number of tricks up its sleeve. The available Tailgate Work Surface turns an open tailgate into a platform for chopping wood, taking measurements, or even a stand for your phone.
A Ford spokesman told Motor1.com that it added a special point for the C-clamp on the tailgate after learning the owner damaged their truck with the device.
For towing, Ford’s excellent Pro Trailer Backup Assist is back, although it now joins a more advanced camera suite and towing-focused telematics. Owners can use CHMSL-mounted cameras to monitor the bed and can check trailer lights via the instrument cluster or the FordPass smartphone app.
The cabin is also more useable. The optional Interior Work Surface gives a fairly good feel to the table or table, which is a valuable feature for owners who frequently work or eat in their vehicles.
While there is a simplified setup for trucks with benches, the captain’s seat has the neatest system possible, with a folding derailleur and a clamshell center console that can create a completely flat work surface.
And if you prefer to sleep, the available Max Recline Seats fold up to nearly 180 degrees, making the F-150 a valid place to wink.
While the F-150 appears to be well-suited for work and leisure, getting to any destination (ultimately) will be easier too, thanks to Ford’s recently announced Active Driving Assistant.
The system originally announced for the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover uses a variety of sensors and a driver-facing camera to facilitate hands-free driving.
However, this is a late availability item, requiring drivers to select a hardware package first when ordering their truck and then pay for over-the-air updates.
Speaking of, besides the Active Driving Assistant upgrade, all F-150s will offer free over-the-air updates for the life of the truck.
The F-150’s most obvious improvements are in the cabin, where drivers will find a revised infotainment system that works via the standard 8.0-inch touchscreen or the available 12.0-inch screens.
The touch screen runs the latest version of the Ford Sync system, which is now fully developed for its fourth generation.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also available, featuring some of the same striking animations introduced in the current Explorer.
As you might expect based on that list, there is a lot of new here. But Ford hasn’t disposed of the baby with the bathwater.
The new hybrid powertrain is joined by a carryover engine that includes the 2.7-liter and 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, and the base 3.3-liter V6.
As we said, the F-150 Hybrid packs 430 hp and 570 lb-ft, while the rest of the lineup should broadly match the 2020 truck output, although a more powerful Ford EcoBoost may be on the way.
Working alongside every powertrain, from hybrid to diesel to turbo to V8, is a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-drive remains standard, while four-wheel drive is available.
Ford F-150 Interior
Ford has made some substantial changes to the cabin, although the overall impact on the design is relatively minor.
The biggest news is the appearance of an available 12.0-inch touchscreen, along with an optional digital instrument cluster, giving the dashboard a new F-150 a much more modern touch.
Below that screen, Ford refreshed the climate control layout, adding a dedicated display knob for temperature. Overall, the entire center stack looks and feels more premium.
Beyond that change, Ford pays attention to cabin details. There is a small touch that accentuates the corners in the cabin and the choice of attractive materials.
The Limited has a neat mesh-like dashboard material while there are some interesting finishes to some of the metal at King Ranch.
The skin quality on the two trucks we saw in person was impressive, although the new F-150 still lacks the detail found on high-end Ram models.
Even so, the distance between Ford and his rival from Auburn Hills was much closer than before, and Ram should have been nervous.
The Exterior of the 2022 Ford F150
Yes, the exterior changes don’t look that big. But while Ford is very close to the current F-Series design, the reality is that most of the truck’s body panels are new. In particular, there’s a redesigned hood and striking new doors that adopt chamfer edges at the top and bottom.
The result of this touch is a more refined design – doors, in particular, make a big difference, capturing light in a way that is far different from today’s trucks. Other changes are even lighter, such as tweaked headlights and taillights.
Ford offers up to 11 different grille options and multiple wheel options in the six trims of the F-150. There is also a two-tone paint option that makes more use of the bottom gutter on the door.
Price & Trims for Ford F-150
Ford will continue to offer the F-150 with six trims (for now). At this stage, however, it’s too early to say what trim will get what equipment as standard. Here’s what we know, ahead of the truck’s Fall 2020 release.
The F-150 XL will continue to be the base model. It comes standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen and a wider range of active safety equipment than the 2020 model.
It’s available in all three body styles, with a two-door variant starting at $ 28,940, excluding destination price.
The SuperCab and half-door twin cost $ 33,025, while the four-door SuperCrew retails for a starting price of $ 36,650. Grabbing the popular off-road FX4 package adds $ 1,005 to the price.
The four-door XL is also the cheapest way to get the F-150 hybrid – the long-awaited PowerBoost option adds $ 4,495 to the XL SuperCrew’s price tag, with an effective starting price of $ 41,145.
In addition to the hybrid drivetrain, Ford will offer an XL trim with the F-150’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine for the first time.
It’s even more expensive than the hybrid, adding $ 4,995 to the asking price. Whereas with the hybrid, diesel is only available in a four-door body.
The F-150 XLT will retain its position as a volume trimmer. It comes standard with an 8.0-inch screen, but a larger 12.0-inch touchscreen is available as an option. It should continue to offer every powertrain available, as the XLT does today.
Like the 2020 model, the XLT 2022 will offer several aesthetic changes to separate it from the worker-focused XL model. Prices start at $ 35,050 for two doors, $ 37,690 for the versatile SuperCab, and $ 40,310 for the spacious SuperCrew.
The F-150 Lariat is where owners are starting to get the fancier options. The Lariat model will remain the most versatile trim, with the most upholstery options and exterior trim options.
Pricing will likely start at $ 4695 for the SuperCab and $ 47,055 for the SuperCrew – like today’s Lariat, Ford won’t be offering this trim as a Regular Cab.
As for the powertrains, the Lariat comes standard with a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 – the PowerBoost hybrid price, meanwhile, drops to $ 3,300.
The F-150 King Ranch is what happens if you ask for a truck with all leather. Perhaps the cabin’s most impressive finish, every possible surface appears to feature cowhide, with more than a few references to the eponymous trim ranch in Texas.
King Ranch was the first member of the F-150 line to limit buyers to the four-door SuperCrew trim and demanded at least $ 56,330 to get started.
At that price, you’ll get the standard 5.0-liter V8, while the price of the PowerBoost option drops again, to just $ 2,500 – the 2.7-liter EcoBoost from here.
The F-150 Platinum elevates the Lariat with a great emphasis on luxury and comfort. This is also the stage where the F-Series really starts to give up its rugged look in favor of a smarter, smoother style.
As with the current Platinum, the new model will only be available with its SuperCrew body and full-size four doors. Pricing starts at $ 59,110.
The king of the hills, of course, is the F-150 Limited. Like the King Ranch and Platinum, it’s only available with the largest cabin, the SuperCrew, and features almost any equipment Ford could offer.
The top-range EcoBoost engine is standard, although the PowerBoost hybrid’s price drops to just $ 1,900, or a bucket drop for trucks that start at $ 70,825.
- Ford F-150 XL: $ 28,940 $ 33,025 $ 36,650
- Ford F-150 XLT: $ 35,050 $ 37,960 $ 40,310
- Ford F-150 Lariat: T / A $ 44,695 $ 47,055
- Ford F-150 King Ranch: T / A T / A $ 56,330
- Ford F-150 Platinum: T / A T / A $ 59,110
- Ford F-150 Limited: T / A T / A $ 70,825
- Ford F-150 Hybrid: T / A T / A $ 41,145 (XL trim)
How much will the 2022 Ford F150?
Prices for the 2022 F-150 start at $ 28,940 but a fully loaded Limited with a hybrid powertrain will sell for $ 82,165.
But with so many different trims, package options, body configurations, and powertrain options, there will be thousands of F-150 configurations that fall into that range.
When can I order the F-2022 Ford F150?
Ford has not disclosed when the 2022 F-150 orders will open. Sales are expected to start in the fall of 2021, which means the truck will be common in dealerships by the end of the year.
Will there be a Ford Raptor?
Yes, finally. Ford is shy about high-performance Baja trucks, but the company is almost certain to make the next generation of this critical and commercial darling.
As for what the Raptor will bring, it’s hard to say. Adding a PowerBoost hybrid would be interesting, but it’s unclear how the battery and electric motor would want to jump over dunes.
What is the towing capacity of the 2022 Ford F150?
Ford has yet to announce detailed towing capacities for the 2022 F-150, but the company aims to maintain its role as a leader in half-ton towing.
The F-150 currently leads the class with a maximum crane rating of 13,200 pounds.
For the 2022 model, the only nugget the company provides is that the F-150 Hybrid will be capable of producing up to 12,000 pounds of maximum towing.
What’s the best engine for the 2022 Ford F150?
It totally depends on how you are going to use the truck. For the feasibility of daily living, the EcoBoost 2.7 liter will satisfy most customers.
The 5.0 liter V8 available is the most character and powerful engine and is efficient enough to challenge a turbocharged model.
At least until we get to the specifics of the PowerBoost hybrid, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost is the engine of choice if you plan to pull out regularly.

2022 Ford F150 Rendering
Information from friends on the F150gen14 (dot) com forum published the following Ford F-150 Raptor 2022 rendering.
They claim the rendering is based on inside information and that this new truck will be available in the next 24 months as a 2022 model. This is not something we are officially waiting for information from Ford.
This rendering took the 2021 Ford F-150 new prototype styling and further extrapolated it with the touch of the Ford Raptor.
This means adding wide-bodied front and rear fenders, “FORD” Raptor signature grills, skid plates, and more.
Rendering is available in three different colors, but (I think) there is no sort of trim or ventilation on the hood.
If the next 3rd generation Raptor will be available as a 2022 model, does that mean no Raptor 2021 will be sold?
That is possible, but I think the 2nd generation Raptor will continue for 2021 with styles and features that are largely unchanged.
The new 2021 and/or Raptor 2022 trucks will likely get a spring around, as evidenced by the test mule seen a few months ago. Shocks to the FOX live valve performance are likely to continue to be offered.
2022 Ford F150 Engine
We don’t yet know exactly what’s under the hood of the upcoming Ford F-150 Raptor, but it is likely to be the next iteration of the 3.5 liters twin-turbo V6. Raptor 2022 can also be a gas/electricity hybrid.
This is all we know about the upcoming Ford F-150 2021.
2021 Ford F150 Engine Options
The Ford F-150 2022 has six powertrain options. Five have been carried over from the previous generation, plus there’s a new V-6 3.5-liter twin-turbo hybrid nicknamed the PowerBoost.
The new hybrid is the most powerful option, producing 430 horsepower, while the 5.0-liter V-8 and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 see a slight increase in power and torque compared to the 2020 model year, and will also have an even one. The more powerful electric F-150 is coming in the next two years.
The new PowerBoost hybrid powertrain delivers the most power at 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque, and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost can pull the most at 14,000 pounds.
The Ford F-150 2022 will arrive at dealerships this fall along with a new PowerBoost hybrid model.
The 3.3-liter V-6 is the base engine of the 2022 F-150 and produces 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque – the same output as a 2020 track. It’s great for a 1985 pound maximum payload and can tow up to 8200 pounds.
The new EcoBoost V-6 2.7 liter truck also delivers the same power as the 2020 model, at 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and can pull up to 10,100 pounds with a maximum payload of 2,480 pounds.
Both the 5.0 liter V-8 and 3.5 liters EcoBoost saw a slight increase in power. The 5.0-liter engine is good for an additional 5 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque over the 2020 model, at 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, and has a maximum payload of 3325 pounds with 13,000 pounds of towing capability.
The 3.5-liter EcoBoost now produces 400 horsepower (up 25) and 500 lb-ft of torque (up 30) and can pull up to 14,000 pounds (previous year’s maximum 13,200 pounds) with a maximum payload of 3250 pounds.
The 3.0-liter Power Stroke V-6 diesel output remains the same at 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque and can pull up to 12,100 pounds with a max payload of 1,840 pounds.
The new PowerBoost V-6, which is equipped with a 35 kW electric motor powered by a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, is the 2022 F-150’s most powerful so far (up to the electric model, that is) with 430 horsepower.
And 570 lb-ft of torque, and can tow up to 12,700 pounds with a maximum payload of 2,120 pounds.
The Ford F-150 2022 will arrive this fall, starting at $ 30,635 for the base XL model and reaching $ 75,945 for the four-wheel-drive Limited SuperCrew. It will be built at the Ford Dearborn, Michigan, and Kansas City, Missouri plants.
Like the 2020 model, the 2022 F-150 is available with several engines – the 3.3-liter 290 hp V-6; a 400- hp 5.0-liter V-8; a 325 hp 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V-6; a 400- hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6; and a 250 hp 3.0 liter V-6 diesel engine.
2022 Ford F150 Price
The Raptor has always been the F-150’s top dog, designed for dune runs and big jumps. This means long-travel suspension, off-road tires, and high output powertrains.
Everything is expected in the 2022 release, including the legally mandated yellow mark that has become an iconic part of Raptor’s aggressive face. Expect wide fenders, an aggressive look, and a high driving attitude.
The Raptor formula is pretty straightforward. Take the standard F-150, upgrade it in the 35s, give it a wide fender and add an aggressive grille with big “FORD” letters and you’re almost there. The 2022 F-150 Raptor shouldn’t be any different.
The belt will be widened to cover large tires all-terrain, requiring front and rear clearance lights. You can also see the Raptor special tailgate again.
We know the style won’t change drastically thanks to the leaked 3D model on the front, but we suspect the new Raptor will look as aggressive as its predecessor.
Detailed specifications are often the last thing we learned with a new tool. So far, we don’t have exact figures about the F-150 Raptor 2022.
What we can say is 450 hp and more than 510 lb-ft of torque over its predecessor in most departments, 0-60 mph under 5.1 seconds, and maximum winch capacity is over 8000 lbs.
The only figure that may not improve is the fuel economy rating: city 15 mpg, highway 18 mpg in the current model.
There is no official statement on pricing for the new Raptor, but the current generation SuperCab starts at $ 55,150 at destination cost and we expect the base price to remain roughly the same on the next-generation V-6 SuperCab.
If there’s no SuperCab, expect the new Raptor to start approaching SuperCrew’s current base price of $ 58,135.
Rumor has it that the V-8 model will likely go beyond that. Its closest competitor, Ram 1500 TRX, starts at $ 71,690 and can easily cost $ 80,000 or more. Don’t be surprised if the V-8 Raptor gets there too.
We’re already looking at the redesigned Ford F-150, the latest iteration of Ford’s popular light-duty pickup truck.
With a healthy list of practical and luxurious upgrades from the previous generation, the F-150 is available in a variety of embellishments from basic to luxury.
After a thorough redesign, it looks like we won’t see much change for 2022. However, 2023 looks set to be the first year for Ford’s fully electric full-size pickup truck, the F-150 EV.
Ford may need the F-150 EV to offset the crater-sized carbon footprint of the recently launched 2021 Raptor with about 500 horsepower, and the upcoming Raptor R will (hopefully) rival Ram’s 702 horsepower. It can pack the V8. TRX.
As the F-150 has been completely redesigned, it looks like we won’t see any significant changes for the 2022 model. If you like what you see now, go to your nearest Ford dealer and check one.
However, if you’re looking forward to this mystical full-size electric pickup truck, stay tuned to Edmunds for all the news about the Ford F-150 EV 2023. More news is likely to come this year.
How Much Is A 2021 F150
Ford has announced pricing for its new 2021 F-150 pickup, and for the first time, its base price has jumped above $ 30,000.
The base XL model starts at $ 30,635 – $ 195 more expensive than the 2020 model year – and goes up to $ 75,945 for the four-wheel-drive Limited SuperCrew model.
How Much Is A F150 King Ranch
We estimate it starts at $ 56,330 excluding other expenses.
How Much Will The All-Electric F 150 Cost
How much is the price of an electric Ford F-150? We estimate the all-electric Ford F-150 costs around $ 55,000, but Ford hasn’t released pricing yet.
Ford is known for offering a variety of body styles and cabin lengths, which can make the electric F-150’s price range attractive to both fleet and luxury truck buyers.
2022 Ford F150 Release Date
Leading the list of cool fixes is the new PowerBoost hybrid offering that includes Pro Power Onboard.
PowerBoost combines an electric motor mounted in the Explorer Hybrid transmission and a frame-mounted 1.5 kWh battery pack with the 3.5 liter F-150 EcoBoost V-6.
No power and torque figures have been announced, but while the Raptor takes a year or more, it will serve as the most powerful new F-150 offering while delivering “12,000 pounds plus” tow capability, reasonable fuel economy, and driving distance. 700 miles claimed. These will be offered at each trim level.
But perhaps even better is the hybrid’s standard Pro Power Onboard system, which provides a 2.4 kW inverter that generates 20 amps of 110-volt electricity to power a job or campsite.
Need 30 amps of 220 volts? Upgrade your PowerBoost truck to a 7.2 kW inverter. Can’t swing the price of a luxury hybrid? A 2.0-kW 110-volt inverter is offered on all but the base 3.3L V-6 and diesel.
It automatically starts and shuts down the engine as needed to power your device.
Chassis improvements include strengthening the frame to support track widening to just under 1 inch, increasing crane ratings, and accommodating the transmission and installation of a longer PowerBoost battery.
Increased rigidity improves the ride, as do better bushings where the cab is attached to the frame and switches to monotube shocks at higher trim levels.
The front stabilizer bar is now attached to the steering knuckle instead of the control arm for increased mechanical advantage, and composite leaf springs are replacing steel in certain low load applications.
The vacuum brake booster is removed for electrical assistance; improved rotors and calipers to handle higher crane ratings; and the F-150 gets an Adaptive Steering system from Super Duty, Edge, and more.
This places the motor and gear between the steering wheel and the column to reduce the amount of steering input required during low-speed maneuvers while eliminating the “jitters” that fast ratio steering may cause at road speeds.
Other new features that aim to get the job done more easily include a retractable shifter that when in Park, folds into the console allowing the center armrest to flip forward and form a continuous flat work surface.
Need a flat surface that you can see? With the tailgate step option, you now get a robust SMC composite tailgate surface that combines imperial and metric crossbar marks, a place to place your handheld while watching YouTube instructional videos, and two recesses for the C clamp to secure your workpiece to the tailgate.
Best of all, the two new fastening loops on the tailgate double as a bottle opener. The gate opening and closing power are also now available.
Joining Pro Trailer Backup Assist is a new Trailer Reverse Guidance system borrowed from Super Duty that uses trailer-mounted cameras and yaw sensors to train the driver while maneuvering manually.
The “most aerodynamic F-150 ever” gets a new active front air dam that retracts at low off-road speeds and drops 3.1 or 3.5 inches (2WD or 4WD models) at speeds over 40-45 mph.
The top surface of the closed rear door accentuates the spoiler’s shape better; there is an air deflector in front of the rear wheels; side mirrors are resized and shaped for optimal flow, and optimized C pillar shape.
The screen is bigger on all of the F-150s, with the base truck getting an optional 8-inch unit, while the 12-inch screen being an upgrade, plus hard buttons for audio and climate control. Two B&O Play audio upgrades are offered, with eight or 18 speakers.
Sync 4 is standard, as are Apple wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. A built-in 4G modem comes standard and allows over-the-air upgrades from most onboard systems.
At launch, Ford will take a page from Tesla’s bookselling hardware upgrades (higher quality exterior cameras and new driver monitoring sensors) for later activation of Active Drive Assist, Ford’s answer to the Cadillac Super Cruise and Tesla Autopilot, which is coming to market within 12 months and then only requires a software upgrade.
The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor will debut on February 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. EST, with the disclosure set to broadcast live on the company’s YouTube and Facebook accounts.
We’ll get full details and specific confirmations, as well as a better idea of when we can see this highly anticipated model at the dealership.
Mike Levine, Ford spokesman, also shared the first official teaser photo for the Raptor (above). This is a closeup of the “FORD” design which is now an icon that has been featured on every Raptor until now.
We can also see legally mandated front-mounted running lights, as well as the sculpted hood.
