The upcoming 2023 Genesis GV60 is a brand-new, all-electric subcompact luxury SUV set to debut later next year. Although it shares many components with the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the GV60 features numerous Genesis design cues, including a larger grille and double-striped headlights and taillights. The cabin, we anticipate, will include more premium materials and advanced technologies to match the vehicle’s greater price, but no specifics are not available yet.
Additionally, there is no information about the GV60’s engine, although we anticipate it will be comparable to that of the Ioniq 5. That car will be available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Genesis’ development as a luxury brand continues with the 2023 GV60. It joins the previously revealed all-electric G80 sedan as Genesis seeks to expand its portfolio of electric vehicles.
Genesis GV60 Driving Range
Additionally, there is no information about the 2023 Genesis GV60 and its powertrain option. However, we anticipate it will be comparable to that of the Ioniq 5. This model will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, with the latter benefiting from increased power.
The 225-horsepower rear-drive Ioniq 5 is expected to have a range of 300 miles, while the 320-horsepower all-wheel-drive dual-motor variant has a range of 270 miles. To compete with other all-electric luxury SUVs such as the Tesla Model Y, we anticipate the GV60’s power output and range estimations to be slightly greater.
Interior Details
Again, we don’t have all of the interior details yet. However, the 2023 Genesis GV60 will be a luxury model with a premium cabin. Everything on the inside looks fashionable, beautiful, and equipped with a variety of luxurious materials. While we doubt the side-view cameras and associated interior-mounted screens will make it to American shores, the EV’s “Crystal Sphere” shift lever is a certain conclusion.
According to Genesis, the leveler acts as a mood light when the car is turned off. When the GV60 is turned on, the shifter performs a little dance and flips over, allowing the driver to select modes such as Neutral, Drive, Park, and Reverse.
Exterior
As for the exterior design, the new 2023 Genesis GV60 looks modern. It isn’t a futuristic and odd-looking model, which is great to see. The GV60 sports a traditional appearance. In these photos, we can see the GV60 SUV painted in unique yellow exterior paint. Of course, Genesis will provide between five and ten exterior colors.
On top of that, numerous trim levels will allow a high level of customization. Still, the vehicle’s dimensions are unknown, along with the list of standard and optional features. Anyway, we think this model looks amazing, hosting a clean exterior design with unique double-striped headlights and taillights.
2023 Genesis GV60 Price and Release Date
The brand has not disclosed the price or specified which features will be standard and optional on the 2023 Genesis GV60. We anticipate a starting price of approximately $55,000, which will position the new SUV squarely against its biggest competitors. That includes models such as Volvo XC40 Recharge and Audi Q4 e-Tron. The sales will begin later in 2023 or early 2023.
