The all-new 2023 GMC Hummer EV pickup is making a return. This time, legendary Hummer will ride on the all-electric powertrain. Huge debut happened during Super Bowl in a commercial starring LeBron James. GM presented its model under the slogan “quiet dominance.” According to General Motors, Hummer EV will produce 1000 horsepower.
Hummer truck will posses impressive acceleration and amazing towing capacity. The exterior will look very modern and the interior details are not available at the moment. However, we are convinced that the Hummer will offer very upright interior design. The ultimate goal is to beat Tesla Cybertruck and with promised figures, Hummer could become the best truck in the world.

The upcoming 2023 GMC Hummer EV will look extremely aggressive and modern. The styling seems to be impressive, but we’ve seen this truck in a commercial and on a teaser image. However, we know that the Hummer will sport a recognizable six-slat grille with large HUMMER letterings. The illuminated grille looks nice and the squared-off LED headlamps are contributing to overall truck’s appearance. GM will deliver a large vent opening with the brand’s logo in the middle.
The fender flares are bolder than usual for this manufacturer. Interestingly, but we didn’t spot a skid plate and some other essential elements. The lighting system is amazing, on both ends. The roof lights are also available. We can’t say anything more about a vehicle’s design but GM will release more details next year.
A 1000HP All-Electric Powertrain
Some fans will be disappointed because old-school V8 won’t be in the offer. However, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV will arrive with a very potent all-electric powertrain. GM claims that the new Hummer will return with 1000 horsepower. Bold claims, even for General Motors. Horses in the commercial are symbolizing great power and Hummer will surely offer a lot of it. Interestingly, the manufacturer also said that the Hummer EV will provide 1,400 lb-ft of torque.
In our opinion, this is impossible and we are convinced that the figures are misleading. Latest reports are suggesting an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds flat. It is another sick number for a truck. Towing capacity is not available but we are afraid to hear it, honestly. Lastly, Hummer EV truck will arrive with a standard AWD system.
2023 Hummer EV vs 2021 Tesla Cybertruck
It isn’t so hard to predict what will be the biggest rivalry in the all-electric truck segment. The 2023 GMC Hummer EV will compete against Tesla Cybertruck. Of course, it is too early to make such comparisons. Whatsoever, exact Hummer’s performance figures are not available yet.
However, many experts believe that the Hummer will have a great advantage over Cybertruck, thanks to its “normal” appearance. As you know, Tesla Cybertruck looks really strange and many people don’t like it. No doubt, Cybertruck is an incredible performer. Even Rivian R1T could make a huge splash once it arrives and joins the battle.
2023 GMC Hummer EV Release Date and Price
It is another mystery that surrounds new 2023 GMC Hummer EV. Its price should start between $60,000 and 70,000. However, this is more than affordable price if GM delivers promised figures.
On the other hand, Tesla Cybertruck will cost significantly less, at around $40,000. Hummer EV truck will undergo production in Detroit and its sales should start later in 2021.
