The forthcoming 2023 Honda Passport is coming to the markets once again. This mid-size SUV is a relatively new model that wears a fresh design and it looks very modern. Because of that, we don’t expect to see major upgrades. Instead, the 2023 Passport will introduce some sort of mid-cycle facelift. Passport offers generous interior room and a room for five.
This model is also known as the “Baby Pilot” because of its similarities with the popular Pilot SUV. Mechanics are almost the same and both models are wearing a recognizable design language. On the other hand, Passport is a smaller model but it still looks handsome. Moreover, performances are great and the interior is modern as well.
2023 Passport Exterior Changes and Colors
The all-new 2023 Honda Passport looks rugged, despite its midsize dimensions. As we said, Passport is closely related to the Honda Pilot SUV. Two models are using the same platform and similar mechanics. The 2023 Passport won’t arrive with drastic cosmetic upgrades. Instead, Honda opted for mild updates. The new model will wear the same square grille that dominates the front fascia. The Passport SUV will gain slimmer headlights and the T-shaped trim that runs through the headlights remains.
The side profile sports sharper body lines and the front fender is slightly larger. The rear section comes with smaller taillights and recognizable dual exhaust outlets. The platform won’t change so the Passport model will remain a mid-size SUV. As before, Honda will offer colors such as Steel Sapphire, Lunar Silver, Crystal Black, and the Black Forest.
Interior
The interior of the 2023 Honda Passport will continue to offer a lot of high-tech features. Again, the changes are minor, but there is no need for dramatic changes at the moment. This mid-size SUV offers a room for five passengers and the cabin space is very generous. Honda does not offer a traditional shifter so the interior looks spacious anyway. The dashboard wears a simple design and air vents are looking modern and unique.
Honda will deliver a new infotainment system, but the infotainment touchscreen remains intact. It is an 8-inch display that comes as standard. Besides that, Passport offers standard USB ports, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Lastly, this model comes with high safety ratings. New Passport will offer even more safety aids, but those aids will be optional.
Single Engine Option
Like the current model, the new 2023 Honda Passport will offer the same 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. This unit develops up to 280 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is available and the front-wheel-drive setup comes as standard.
You can load the optional all-wheel-drive system, but fuel economy ratings will be slightly lower. Speaking of which, the FWD Passport provides 23 mpg combined, which is good. This mid-size SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds and thanks to the higher ground clearance, off-roading is a possibility.
2023 Honda Passport Release Date, Price
As for the price, the approaching 2023 Honda Passport will cost $32,000. The price won’t change, as the 2023MY will introduce minor updates. The sales will begin at some point later in 2021.
