The upcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck could get more exterior refinements and even some changes beneath the hood. Ridgeline will remain a unibody pickup truck based on the Pilot SUV. This model brings a unique set of advantages and it represents one of the most reliable options in the mid-size segment. Ridgeline shares plenty of things with Pilot SUV and its ride quality is amazing.
If you need a pickup for a casual drive, then Ridgeline is the answer. On the other hand, Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado are better options in terms of work and utility. If you want more luxury, Black Edition is the answer but the price is significantly higher. The hybrid powertrain will be in the offer for improved fuel efficiency which is great. Here’s what Honda plans with Ridgeline pickup in 2023.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Exterior Upgrades
Interestingly, the Japanese manufacturer still didn’t provide any specific details. For that reason, a new 2023 Honda Ridgeline is still quite a mystery. This pickup truck will surely arrive with some sort of exterior upgrades. However, no one actually knows how the new model will look like once it arrives. Once again, Ridgeline pickup will borrow a lot of things from the Honda Pilot SUV.
Two models are even sharing the same platform. Dimensionally, Ridgeline won’t change at all, but Honda could introduce more lightweight materials. The front fascia should gain a more upright design with stylish headlights and fog lights. The grille will be restyled and it will wear more chrome accents. A two-way tailgate is still just a rumor but it would be great to see this feature, even as an option.
Interior Offers Comfort
The upcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline comes with a very upscale interior. Again, it is a similar interior like the Pilot SUV has to offer. All of the controls are logically arranged and the 8-inch touchscreen will be offered as standard. A gear selector is a push-button unit which is cool, but we still think the traditional gear shifter is a better option. The comfort is on a high level as before and Ridgeline pickup provides a quiet ride.
The Japanese carmaker will introduce a new backlighting system and new high-tech amenities. However, all of the brand-new features will be optional on the base trim level. For that reason, we’d like to recommend the RTL-E trim level. There will be six trim levels in the offer and the Black Edition will remain the most luxurious option.
Engine
The latest reports are strongly suggesting a hybrid powertrain inside the 2023 Honda Ridgeline. But first, the mid-size pickup truck will continue to offer a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine. The standard engine option is available across all trim levels and it generates 280 horsepower. Moreover, reliable V6 returns 265 lb-ft of torque. Its unibody construction comes with a standard front-wheel-drive setup and optional all-wheel-drive system.

A 6-speed automatic transmission is available too. Ridgeline currently delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. As for the rumored hybrid powertrain, Honda is reportedly working on it. The goal is to deliver slightly more power and to drastically improve fuel efficiency. Still, you won’t find any specific information about Ridgeline Hybrid. On the other hand, Ridgeline Type-R is another possibility. It is a sportier high-performance version that will surely arrive with more power, over 350 hp.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Price and Release Date
The price of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline will start at $32,500. It is a small jump in price and its Black Edition trim level will surely cost over $50,000. The mid-size pickup truck will go on sale in the second half of 2020. More information will become available in the coming weeks. That includes details on the hybrid variant and much more.
