2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz

The upcoming 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a pickup truck that’s a couple of months away from its release. However, there is still no official confirmation, but the Santa Cruz is already a subject of various speculations. Like the previous generation, the new mid-size pickup truck will use the same unibody construction. Interestingly, Hyundai claims that this truck is an excellent option if you’re looking for more giant trucks like the Honda Ridgeline, which is also a unibody vehicle.

However, unlike Honda Ridgeline, the Hyundai Santa Cruz comes with a unique style, including an upgraded front and rear fascia. In our opinion, this model looks much more futuristic than the latest Tucson. Nonetheless, the Santa Cruz also provides a comfortable ride and excellent seat support.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Redesign

Like the latest Tucson SUV, the new 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz blends the same 4-door cabin with a short but handy truck bed. Considering that this model has a unit-body design, it looks more rigid than before. Like it or not, we respect Hyundai for making such a quality compact pickup. In front, this model dominates with a bold grille that uses hidden lighting, similar to the Sonata and new Tucson. On top of that, this model also comes with a skid-plate at the bottom of the front fascia.

From the side, it looks retro-modern, thanks to the raked C-pillar and 20-inch wheels. The Hyundai’s bed is four feet long, with an adjustable tailgate that allows you to put your goodies easily. Interestingly, the bed has underfloor storage with a drain plug.

More Stylish Cabin

On the inside, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz looks identical to its sibling Tucson. Generally speaking, this truck has one of the most excellent cabins among mid-size pickups. Hyundai has made many upgrades inside compared to the previous generation. First of all, there is plenty of attractive materials and desirable modern features.

Unlike the Honda Ridgeline, the new Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a wheelbase that’s about 7 inches shorter. That means its back seat might not be particularly roomy. Likewise, Hyundai ensures that its pickup truck is outfitted with the latest techs available. Stepping in, you’ll first notice a standard 8.0-inch infotainment system or an optional 10.0-inch touchscreen. Along with, you can expect wireless device charging, wireless pairing for both Apple CarPlay and Android auto, and even Amazon Alexa.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Offers Two Powertrain Options

Like its predecessor, the new 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz comes with two engine choices. The base engine uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit producing up to 190 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the manufacturer also offers the same 2.5-liter engine but with a turbocharger. Thanks to that, this model delivers 275 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of twisting power.

Both models employ the same 8-speed automatic transmission, while the turbocharged model includes a dual-clutch system too. No matter which engine you choose, an all-wheel-drive system is offered as the option. As for the towing capacity, this truck from the Hyundai statement can tow around 5,000 pounds.

Release Date, Price

The upcoming 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz will be redesigned for the following year, but don’t expect anything significant. We expect this model to be priced the same as the previous generation.

The current entry-level model starts at $25,000, and it can go to 40,000 for more upper trims. The sales will begin in the first half of 2023. Interestingly, many believe the Santa Cruz N could go on sale as well at the same time.
