The approaching 2023 Kia Niro is ready to receive further upgrades. Niro is an SUV, but it is hard to believe in that for various reasons. It doesn’t have an SUV’s higher ground clearance and available AWD system. Niro lacks a lot of features, and it merely doesn’t have SUV-like ability. It is more like a hatchback with styling closer to the regular crossover.
However, Niro has so much to offer. A hybrid system is available, and interior provides a lot of amenities. Impressively, even the base trim level offers a couple of remarkable features. For 2023, Niro will obtain a couple of visual and high-tech upgrades.
2023 Niro Trim Levels
The upcoming 2023 Kia Niro is available in five different trim levels. Everything starts with the base FE model. The entry-level model offers 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, and a rearview camera. On top of that, 7-inch display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a four-speaker sound system are available.
The LX trim level adds LED taillights, keyless ignition, and roof rails. LED daytime running lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and rear center armrest are in the offer as well. Technology Package is optional on the Niro LX, and it adds numerous driver-assistance features.
The EX model is equipped with a standard power-folding mirrors, high-gloss black features and a mix of cloth and leather upholstery. With this trim level, you will get more high-tech features and a more premium cabin. You can even load a Premium package that comes with xenon headlights, sunroof, and more quality stuff.
The S Touring is the newest trim level. The 2023 Niro and its S Touring model are offering a larger touchscreen and premium audio system. Furthermore, glossy-black 18-inch wheels and metallic front grille are also in the offer. Interestingly, none of the packages are available on this trim level.
The range-topping Touring model is the best you can get. All of the features are standard, and you will get even more safety aids. On top of that, you have a lot more colors to choose from. The interior is luxurious, and the exterior looks more elegant and sporty.
Exterior Changes
The all-new 2023 Kia Niro will get a couple of visual updates. For a start, the styling looks fresh. Niro crossover is recognizable up front. It hosts reshaped headlights, new bumper and the arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights. In the back, LED taillights are relatively new and rear bumpers sports faux materials. The goal is to bring a hybrid model closer to the EV and gasoline variants.
Niro Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid, and Electric Variants
Nothing will change here. However, the 2023 Kia Niro still presents a solid choice in this crossover-SUV segment. If you know how far you’re going every day, the electric version is a good option. On the other hand, plug-in hybrid version is better for longer trips. Interestingly, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models are very similar. The only difference is the larger battery in the plug-in model. It allows 26 miles of all-electric driving range.
You can recharge this version with a regular external power source. After the projected 26 miles, the crossover continues to drive as a regular Niro model. More importantly, it provides 46 mpg combined. Everything goes through a 1.6-liter engine and its 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Niro can produce up to 140 hp.
2023 Kia Niro Price and Release Date
Kia’s newest crossover will cost around $24,000. It is an affordable price, considering the mileage and exceptional comfort. The 2023 Kia Niro is also available in different variants. The hybrid model starts at $27,000, plug-in will cost a little more and electric Niro over $30,000. Kia will release the new Niro in the coming weeks.
