The upcoming 2023 Land Rover Range Rover has been spied a couple of weeks ago. This luxury SUV will get a new look, and it will get various upgrades. According to Land Rover, the next model will hit the markets at some stage next year. Additionally, the long-wheelbase variant is also in the works.
If you didn’t know that, last year, Land Rover unveiled a new engine and a new hybrid configuration as the standard powertrain option. Thanks to that, it is hard to believe that this luxury SUV will get a new engine in 2023.
2023 Range Rover Spy Photos
The all-new 2023 Land Rover Range Rover was spied on a full-camo test. Unlike the current model, the new Range Rover tends to have a much less boxy shape. And while the design language is unchanged, some styling cues will be taken from a redesigned Defender.
According to Land Rover, the new Range Rover will ride on the MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform. The same platform underpins Jaguar XJ. It should be said that the D7 platform underpins the outgoing Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Discovery models. In addition, the manufacturer has revealed that the new MLA platform will be lighter than the current D7 architecture.
Interior Updates
Right now, we don’t know anything about the upcoming 2023 Land Rover Range Rover and its interior. However, various reports are suggesting that the arriving model won’t offer the third row of seats. This means that the Land Rover Range Rover will continue to be sold with two rows of seats, offering a room for five occupants.
The cabin will most likely host various things that are carryover. Like always before, Ranger Rover will offer a lot of premium stuff and a high level of luxury. The 2023 model comes with a pair of 10-inch touchscreens, both with pinch-to-zoom and swipe access. A larger 12.3-inch digital driver information monitor is also available.
Engine Specs
The spied prototype didn’t have a V8 powertrain option. The spy shots of the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover are showing different exhaust layout. However, a new video shows another prototype that clearly sounds deep, just like the V8. The question is, what sort of V8 is under the hood? Nothing is official yet and there are so many rumors about possible engine lineup.
Most likely, a 5.0-liter V8 will be replaced with a new BMW’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo unit. This is just speculation, but one thing is certain. New Range Rover SUV will surely offer some sort of hybrid powertrain and even the all-electric variant is a possibility.
2023 Land Rover Range Rover Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2023 Land Rover Range Rover will once again start at about $95,000. The new platform can accommodate various sorts of electrifications, so Land Rover will offer different models and trim levels. A full reveal is not expected to happen this year. That means the manufacturer will release more details in the first quarter of 2021. The sales will begin later next year.
