The upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is in the works, and new spy shots are the proof we needed. Moreover, interesting renderings are available as well, and even some leaked documents are suggesting the next-gen Outlander. This SUV will share the architecture with the new Nissan Rogue, so we expect small changes in terms of size.
The styling is refreshed, and the front fascia looks unique like never before. The new engine will improve the vehicle’s power by 13 percent, and we also expect numerous interior updates. The price will be slightly increased, and the sales will most likely begin in the later stages of 2021.
2023 Outlander Shows New Design
New rendering images of the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander are showing something completely new. The upcoming model will look more rugged, combining current design language and some new futuristic styling cues. The front part will gain the most dramatic changes. New Outlander will feature a dynamic shield grille, fog lights, and new headlights. The headlamps are thinner than before and are finished in a different shape.
Everything looks very modern, including new exterior features such as wheels. The next-gen model will introduce new exterior paints, and some things will be borrowed from the Engelberg Tourer concept. Lastly, the new Outlander will get the same platform that underpins a new Nissan Rogue. Thanks to that, we expect minor dimensional changes.
Interior Updates
On the inside, a new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will introduce interesting updates. All trim levels offer a room for seven passengers, except the PHEV variant that offers five seats. No matter which trim you opt for, Outlander will offer more than enough cabin space, especially upfront. If you fold the rear seats, you will get almost 63 cubic feet of cargo room, which is great.
Outlander is available in ES, SE, LE, SEL, and GT trim levels. If you want a hybrid powertrain, you’ll have to opt for SEL or GT variants. The base trim level comes with more standard features, new infotainment, a rearview camera, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
New Engine Joins Outlander PHEV
From what we heard, this SUV will get more power. The credit goes to an all-new engine that delivers an improvement of 13 percent. It is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that also powers the new Nissan Rogue. This engine will generate up to 188 horsepower. However, we don’t know if this four-cylinder unit will deliver the same amount of power in the Outlander SUV.
The mentioned plug-in hybrid powertrain is still the best possible output that you can get. It is a combination of a 2.4-liter engine and a hybrid setup. For 2023MY, Mitsubishi could also borrow the same configuration from the Rogue PHEV version.
2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Release Date, Price
The next-gen 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2021. Furthermore, this SUV could arrive earlier if the Coronavirus pandemic ends in the next couple of months.
The price will start at about $26,000, and a hybrid variant will cost around $35,000. As before, Outlander SUV will rival models such as Ford Edge, Chevy Blazer, and Hyundai Santa Fe.
