The upcoming 2023 BMW X2 has been spied once again. Compact crossover represents a good option in the segment, especially because this is a great alternative to the premium hatchbacks. Its size is compact and the cabin provides a tall seating position. Moreover, the X2 crossover comes with higher ground clearance and premium styling.
For 2023, X2 will be more competitive and it will gain plenty of refreshments. Spy shots are showing exactly that. The updates include both exterior and interior upgrades, while the performances shouldn’t change at all. The sales will begin next summer and the price will most likely remain intact.
BMW X2 Spy Photos
It was 2018 when BMW introduced its X2 model. That means the 2023 BMW X2 will enter in its fourth year of production. And while BMW opted for minor upgrades in the first three years, the new X2 will finally introduce more changes. However, the changes are still not significant. The spy photos are hinting at some updates, which is good news. The X2 crossover is closely related to the X1 model so we already have an idea of how the new model could look like.
The prototype has been spied with revised headlights and heavy camouflage over the grille clearly suggests more significant changes. That means the front fascia will be refreshed and new fog lights could become available as well. BMW will surely show the next prototype in the near future and hopefully, things will be much clearer. The rumors are suggesting the X2 convertible variant in the near future as well.
Changes inside the cabin are also likely. The all-new 2023 BMW X2 should arrive with more advanced tech features and a new dashboard design. We’ve seen something similar inside the new 1-Series hatchback and new 2-Series Gran Coupe variants. This is a perfect example of how new BMW vehicles could look on the inside.
The changes include a refreshed digital instrument cluster that comes with a larger infotainment touchscreen. This unit sits at the top of the center stack and it provides a very impressive interface. As for the rest of the interior updates, we’ll have to wait for 2021. However, X2 crossover will surely remain a premium model with a high level of comfort and good safety ratings.
Will BMW Introduce Hybrid In The U.S?
At this moment, X2 crossover that is available in the United States is available in xDriver28i and M35i grades. Both variants are using 2.0-liter turbo-four gasoline with 228 and 302 horsepower. According to various reports, the 2023 BMW X2 should arrive with the same output. On the other hand, there is a chance of the new powertrain option.
New engine is rumored to become available in new entry-level trim that comes with a standard front-wheel-drive. Both models are using an 8-speed automatic transmission and a plug-in hybrid model is another possibility for this crossover. Interestingly, the X2 model already offers a PHEV variant but this version is not available in the United States.
2023 BMW X2Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2023 BMW X2 model will start at $39,000. The subcompact crossover will go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2021. After that, the US-spec variant will become available at some point during the summer.
