The forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will go on sale later next year. It is the brand’s best-selling SUV at the moment and we expect for good sales to continue. Chevy will introduce various improvements, including a redesigned exterior and a higher level of comfort inside the cabin. Equinox already looks handsome and it provides ample interior room.
While the Equinox SUV comes with a sporty vibe, the RS trim is the sportiest variant you can get. This SUV will continue to rival models such as Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V. The price will slightly increase while we don’t know if Chevrolet plans to improve the performances.
2023 Equinox Exterior Redesign
The exterior of the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will be restyled. According to the latest information, Equinox will arrive as the next-gen model. That means we expect significant cosmetic changes. The front fascia will wear a wider grille and it will look more aggressive. If you want more premium stuff, Premier trim comes with a new gloss-black chrome grille, LED headlights, and logo projection on the tailgate.
The base trim will also introduce LED taillights and new quad exhaust outlets. While the Equinox looks sporty and stylish at the same time, the RS trim is significantly sportier. This variant comes with a gloss-black grille, 19-inch wheels, and blacked-out badges.
Interior Features and Updates
The all-new 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will once again introduce interior updates. It is a two-row SUV with room for five passengers. The comfort will be improved while the interior room will remain. The seats are supportive and Chevrolet offers various premium materials. The interior highlight is a touchscreen that sits in the center of the dashboard. There will be five trim levels, just like before. The entry-level models will offer a standard cloth upholstery.
On the other hand, upper trims are equipped with standard leather seats. The base “L” trim comes with keyless entry, four USB ports, Bluetooth, and push-button start. However, the range-topping Equinox Premier variant is full of luxury and unique stuff. The RS trim will get new black upholstery with red stitching and a special RS shift knob. Lastly, Equinox offers more than a solid cargo area, 63.9 cubic feet of space to be more precise.
Specs, Transmission, Towing Capacity
The next-gen 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will arrive with two engine options. The first option is a smaller 1.5-liter engine with 170 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available once again. If you want more power, the larger and optional 2.0-liter turbo-four unit is capable of delivering 252 horses. This variant will introduce a new 9-speed automatic gearbox.
As for the towing capacity, the base trim level can tow up to 1,500 pounds. On the other hand, choosing an optional engine will get you 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. At this point, we don’t know if Chevy plans to deliver a new powertrain option or to improve the existing engine lineup.
2023 Chevrolet Equinox Release Date, Price
The price of the new 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will start at about $25,500. That means the price is slightly increased, but the range-topping trim will still cost above $40,000. Chevy will launch a new Equinox SUV in the second half of 2021.
