The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD will arrive next year with some mild upgrades. One of the larger heavy-duty trucks has been spied testing recently but, unfortunately, wearing heavy wraps. If new rumors about power are true, the forthcoming model will also offer a class-leading horsepower and torque.
Many sources claim that the next Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD will use a V8 producing 505 horsepower (377 kilowatts) a 1,085 pound-feet. Compared to its predecessor, this is a significant boost which would place the Silverado HD at the top in terms of overall power. However, it’s still behind Ram and its amazing 1,075 pound-feet of torque.

Even among large numbers of heavy-duty pickups, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD stands out with its robust design. This model will receive some upgrades for the next year, including more massive grille that still heightens the necks of some adults.
It also comes with the same bed called DuraBed that’s exclusive to heavy-duty models. With the long-bed option, this model offers a class-leading volume of 83.5 cubic feet. On top of that, the Silverado 3500 HD also has an enlarged corner steps and a power-operated tailgate. As before, we expect this truck to be available with a dual-rear-wheel (“dually”) setup, which is ideal for towing.
Cabin Upgrades
The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD will, like its half-ton Silverado 1500 sibling, offer the same modern cabin. Depending on the cab configuration, you can get model with three to six passengers. The crew cab is generally the best option if hauling co-workers, friends, or family.
Upscale models like the High Country are the best if you’re looking for something different. This model will offer heated and ventilated seats, leather upholstery, and a head-up display. Still, the cabin of the Silverado doesn’t quite measure the techs that the Ram Heavy Duty or Ford Super Duty are offering.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD Engine Specs
As mentioned, the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD will get some modifications under the hood. Reportedly, the new truck will be available with the same V8 producing now 505 horsepower (377 kilowatts) a 1,085 pound-feet. This is a significant boost from its processor.
By comparison, the Ford Super Duty is in the same class, but it offers less horsepower 475 hp (354 kW) from its 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8. However, when it comes to torque, Ram HD is the king with its 6.7-liter Cummins I6 producing 1,075 pound-feet (1,457 Nm) of twist.
Release Date, Price
Considering that the updated half-ton Silverado is revealed, we expect the new Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD to arrive sometime next year. As per the latest information, the upcoming truck will be updated, and it will gain more output than before. It will continue to be powered by the same V8 engine that will deliver now 505-hp diesel.
However, GM didn’t yet confirm officially any claim above, but we are hoping that it will soon. At this point, there is no available pricing, but we presume slightly increase over the current model that starts at $35,000.
