The upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV is an answer to the recently revealed 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning. Although it shares its electric powertrain with the GMC Hummer EV, the new pickup truck should pack larger battery. According to Chevy, the Silverado EV will be able to deliver 400 miles of range per charge. Moreover, like the Hummer electric, the Silverado EV will be available with up to three electric motors depending on trim levels. On top of that, all-wheel drive will be standard.
Chevrolet hasn’t released full specs about this pickup, but officials stated that it will be build in Michigan at the same plant as the Hummer EV. We expect this model to arrive next year, and it will undoubtedly rival models like Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and the Tesla Cybertruck.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV Design
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV will be a completely new truck. From the available information, the electric truck will run on the latest GM’s all-electric Ultium Platform, similarly used to the Hummer EV model. We just got some of the renderings, and we like the new styling.
First of all, the front fascia is wholly restyled, featuring a closed massive grille, attractive headlights, and a much bolder hood. Also, we noticed a blue Chevy logo in the half of the grille and a sportier styling on the side profile. It seems that Chevy is going to lure many customers thanks to extensive and stylish wheels as well as side steps. As you can see at first glance, the Chevrolet Silverado EV looks less luxurious than the GMC Hummer. However, we can expect a variety of options that will undoubtedly change that.
Cabin Rumors
On the inside, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV will definitively look more stylish than the regular one. Unfortunately, there is no available image to confirm that. Actually, we expect this model to offer the same seating layout, but with more supportive seats.
Also, the manufacturer will for sure add a new infotainment screen and much more amenities. Many believe that it will host the identically large display as we saw on the latest Ram 1500. Chevrolet’s interior treatment will also include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration as standard.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV Specs
Given that the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV will share a platform with the Hummer EV, it’s highly likely that they will also share a powertrain. That would mean we can expect eider the model with one, two, or three electric motors depending on trim.
The most potent model will deliver at least 1000 horsepower. All-wheel drive should be standard, and we expect a battery pack of 200-kWh. Chevrolet claims that Silverado EV will be able to travel around 400 miles per charge.
Release Date and Price
The debut of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV will be most likely to happen sometime next year. Besides more attractive design language than before, we should also expect as well a comfortable cabin. However, at this point, Chevrolet hasn’t released any pricing figures or trim levels, but we managed to dig some news.
From many speculations, the model with one motor and a standard package of equipment will start at 50k. Of course, two and three motor options will boost that price up.
