Every week more and more information about the upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is available. From the latest one, the new all-electric pickup truck will expand the Ford truck lineup with its debut in December. This model shares much of the regular F-150’s body and cabin, but it swaps gasoline-powered V-6 and V-8 engines with a pair of electric motors and one of two different battery packs.

According to Blue Oval, the F-150 Lightning with a standard-Range battery should deliver up to 230 miles per charge. However, if this is not enough for you, the manufacturer also offers an Extended-Range capacity, providing 300 miles. The electric version of America’s favorite truck, F-150, will surely be an instant hit. Moreover, it won’t be the only all-electric pickup truck by the time it reaches the market. The new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is an all-electric pickup truck that looks unique. Compared to the “regular” F-150, the Lightning model stands out with a smoother, more aerodynamic design and excellent lighting. Generally speaking, its design is distinct, sharing many cues with the famous Mustang Mach-E. However, it’s instantly recognizable and is available as a four-door SuperCrew cab with a 5.5 footbed. The front trunk offers a capacity of 14 cubic feet, and It can hold 400 pounds of payload. It also houses various power outlets.

The most noticeable thing is a LED strip going across the hood and connecting the LED headlight units. Choosing the XLT trim, buyers will get black-finished fixed running boards and 20-inch alloys finished in Dark Carbonized Gray. Moreover, the Platinum trim is favorite and is offered with 2-tone bright aluminum/black 22-inch alloys.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning cabin, depending on trim level, goes from basic to extraordinary. The cheapest Pro model has many features to offer. This model has vinyl upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, two 120-volt outlets in the cabin, plus four 120-volt outlets and two USB ports in the front trunk.

Upper trim XLT trim offers more, and it includes an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cloth upholstery, keypad entry, and a 360-degree camera system. Lariat and Platinum are the most expensive trims because they have adaptive cruise control, a 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen oriented vertically, and a 9-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning comes standard with two electric motors and an all-wheel drive. According to Blue Oval company, the motors make 426 horsepower with the standard-range battery, providing 230 miles per charge.

However, if you choose the Extended-Range battery, the horsepower rises to 563, as the driving range to 300 miles. Buyers will be able to charge this pickup at home via 110- and 220-volt outlets or at public DC fast-charging stations. Ford claims that the F-150 Lightning can charge 15 percent to 80 percent of battery capacity in 44 minutes. The official maximum towing capacity is 10,000 pounds, with the optional Extended-Range battery.

Release Date and Price

The forthcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is the all-new model that will join Ford’s truck lineup this year. This truck comes standard with an all-wheel drive and is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds.

It also deploys a strong battery package that allows 300 miles of range per charge. The entry-level PRO model starts at $42,000, while the most expensive is a Platinum model for $70,000.
