The redesigned 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD models are recently spied testing with subtle refreshments. Like the Silverado 1500, the HD models should receive the same treatments. That means we can expect a more attractive front fascia and plentiful new technology inside.
Generally, the Silverado heavy-duty versions are the brand’s popular trucks, featuring very potent gasoline V8 and Duramax diesel engines. Thanks to them, the new truck can tow around 23,100 pounds or 35,500 pounds with the 3500 heavy-duty truck.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD Exterior
The facelifted 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD models are almost in line with the lighter category Silverado 1500 pickup truck. Basically, all models are using the same design language that is quite still competitive. The first thing you will notice is the massive grille and attractive LED headlights. On the back, like the new Silverado 2500, the 3500 also includes a new bed called DuraBed. Generally, this bed is exclusively made for heavy-duty models. We like the enlarged corner steps and standard side steps on both HD models, resulting in easier access.
Trailer-tow mirrors are standard, just as the power-operated tailgate. On the other hand, if you are looking for the model that is suitable for towing, the Silverado 3500 HD dual-rear-wheel (“dually”) setup is you’re the best choice.
Cabin Upgrades
Like its predecessor, the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD will use many elements from its Silverado 1500 sibling. Generally, Silverado HD is one of the best working trucks on the market. It offers three to six seats, depending on cab configuration. If you need a truck for hauling co-workers or a large family, we recommend the roomier crew-cab model over the double cab.
However, Silverado’s interior cannot match the tech-rich Ram Heavy Duty with its massive 12-inch infotainment screen. By the way, if you have some additional money, an upscale model like the High Country is an ideal choice. This trim features heated and ventilated seats, leather upholstery, head-up display, and much more.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD Engine Specs
Under the hood, the forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD will offer two engine options. The first one is a potent gasoline 6.6-liter V8 that replaces the previous-gen 6.0-liter Vortec. This engine can develop 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, providing ample acceleration and a good payload-hauling ability of 23,100 pounds.
Optionally, one can get a more potent 6.6-liter Duramax diesel generation 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the first engine, diesel one increasing this engine’s max towing ability to a best-in-class 35,500 pounds. This engine uses a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission, while gasoline models continue to use a 6-speed automatic.
Release Date and Price
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD models release will most likely to happen later this year. The base 2500 truck with a regular cab will cost $34,700, while the one-ton 3500 model begins slightly higher, at $35,000.
However, a more equipped Top-trim High Country trim level starts at $62,000. Loaded to the max, a 3500 High Country can easily pass the $80,000 mark. For comparison only, a full loaded Ford Super Duty, for example, can reach over $90,000.
