Ford claims that this truck with a standard battery can go up to 230 miles on a single charge. Moreover, an extended range battery is available as well, allowing 300 miles.
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Exterior
The all-electric 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning looks more attractive than the standard variant. Generally speaking, it shares much of its sheet metal with gasoline-powered F-150. This model is easily distinguished by its unique front fascia that comes with a new dark false grille and inverted LED lights that connect the headlights.
The overall design is futuristic, and the new Ford F-150 Lightning looks like nothing else on the road. A red inverted U on the tailgate completes this attractive design. Considering that this is an electric variant, the battery is placed under the floor. According to Ford, buyers will be able to charge this truck at home via 110- and 220-volt outlets or with public DC fast-charging stations.
First Look Inside
On the inside, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is much the same as the gasoline-powered F-150. Moreover, it offers a very roomy cabin that can place five occupants comfortably. Of course, the Lightning model has a few key differences compared to the base model.
It features a new 15.5-inch touchscreen in the portrait position that’s standard on Lariat and Platinum trims and also available on lower-priced models. On top of that, a 12-inch digital cluster is a highlight, and it replaces traditional gauges.

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is powered by two electric motors that offer instant torque delivering to all-wheel drive. On top of that, the manufacturer uses a lithium-ion battery providing great mileage. The standard battery capacity and electric motors allow this truck to go around 230 miles on a single charge, delivering 426 horses. Besides, there is also an extended range battery that comes with the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro.
Thanks to its huge capacity, this battery pack delivers 300 miles per charge and 563 horses. Ford says it can charge to 80 percent of battery capacity in 44 minutes. As we mentioned, Ford’s new Intelligent Backup Power comes standard allowing this truck to feed power from its battery pack through a home wall charger. All-wheel drive is standard, and this truck is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds.

America’s favorite truck will go on sale sometime in spring 2023. This impressive truck will shake the electric segment with attractive styling and even better performance. Blue Oval also offers with this truck a pair of electric motors and one of two different battery packs.
As mentioned, the Standard-Range battery should deliver up to 230 miles per charge, while the Extended-Range packs around 300 miles. Pricing is also available, and the entry model costs $42,000.
