The forthcoming 2023 GMC Acadia is getting a facelift. This is one incredible SUV with a family-friendly character and plenty of luxury. Acadia will once again offer a three-row seating layout and it won’t change significantly in the near future. Whatsoever, the new-gen Acadia is present since 2017 so the next-gen model won’t happen yet. Interestingly, but Acadia rides on the same platform as the Cadillac CT6 sedan.
The ride comfort is superb and generally, Acadia is a very comfortable SUV. The new model won’t change dimensionally, but some changes under the skin are very likely. According to GM, the new Acadia will gain improved fuel efficiency but a new powertrain won’t happen either. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021.
2023 Acadia Facelift
The 2023 GMC Acadia will continue to look both urban and modern. Some cosmetic upgrades will happen, but nothing dramatic. The Acadia SUV is a recognizable model, thanks to its larger chrome grille and slimmer LED headlamps. Some parts of the vehicle are looking muscular, while some others are very stylish and upright. Still, the design language won’t change at all.
As we said, Acadia shares its underpinnings with the Cadillac CT6 sedan. However, Acadia comes with better ride quality, especially its Denali trim level. As for the changes, the 2023MY will offer slightly larger taillights, improved aerodynamics, and probably one or two all-new exterior paints.
Interior Updates
The interior will also host minor updates. The 2023 GMC Acadia will remain a three-row SUV with a roomy cabin and a high level of comfort. This family-friendly SUV comes with additional soft-touch surfaces and updated infotainment. Its Smart Slide system is improved as well. Thanks to that, access to the third row is even easier now.
The Acadia is available in numerous trim levels. Its off-road AT4 trim level offers only five seats, but it can be had thanks to the optional six- or seven-seat layout. As before, Acadia will offer various packages that will improve the modernity of the interior or its comfort.
Three Engine Options
As for the performances, small changes will happen. However, the upcoming 2023 GMC Acadia won’t introduce a new powertrain option. Instead, the same three engines are available once again. General Motors said that all three engines will get improved fuel economy by 20%. The SL and SLE trim levels are available with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 194 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque.
The SLT trim comes with a more potent 2.0-liter turbo-four output. This engine is capable of producing 230 horses and 258 lb-ft of twisting power. Lastly, there is a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This engine powers the trim levels such as AT4 and Denali. A nine-speed automatic transmission is in the offer, along with the optional AWD system. The Acadia can tow from 1,000 to 1,500 and 4,000 pounds.
2023 GMC Acadia Release Date, Price
The all-new 2023 GMC Acadia will become available at some point in the second half of 2021. The price for the base trim level starts at around $30,500. On the other hand, the range-topping Acadia Denali model will cost over $50,000.
