2023 Hyundai Creta: Next-Gen SUV Gains 7-Seat Variant. The all-new 2023 Hyundai Creta is coming to the markets by the end of the year. This seven-seater SUV will go on sale in various markets. However, South Korean manufacturer plans to sell it in India firstly as a direct rival of the Mahindra XUV500. It will be the next-gen model so expect more significant changes.
And just like Tucson, India-spec Creta will depart from the global model. Of course, we are talking about the seven-seat interior layout as the regular Creta offers a room for five. Both exterior and interior will gain numerous improvements and even the performance should be improved. As a result, you can expect a more upright SUV for a slightly larger amount.
2023 Creta Exterior Facelift
New-gen 2023 Hyundai Creta will ride on a modified K2 platform. This architecture also underpins the new Kia Seltos model. Moreover, it also underpins the current Elantra and Verna models. The platform has been modified due to the mentioned seven-seat configuration. That means the architecture is longer new but the wheelbase will largely remain. The increased length will help Hyundai to add the third row of seats and because of that, you can expect a stretched rear overhang.
You can also count on the new wheels and more drastic updates upfront. That includes a new grille and reshaped headlights. The rear part will from now on host new taillights and slightly bolder bumper. Lastly, new roof-rails are available and the roof looks flatter.
Interior Updates
The regular five-seat Creta will continue to offer a boot space that has been rated at 15.3 cubic feet. The upcoming 2023 Hyundai Creta will get the third-row of seats so don’t expect generous cargo capacity. On the other hand, Hyundai is working on flexible seats that should improve the cargo area. You can also expect subtle changes in terms of interior design.
South Korean manufacturer also plans to add more tech and to update the existing fully digital instrument console. Moreover, you can expect new design of the cluster. On top of that, Blue Link car technology is updated too and this SUV will gain brand-new portrait-style infotainment display.
Three Engine Choices
There won’t be any difference between five-seat and seven-seat Creta models in terms of performance. That means the 2023 Hyundai Creta will offer three engine options, two gasolines and a single diesel engine. Thanks to the same platform, Creta will borrow 1.4-liter gasoline from the Seltos model. It can produce 113 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque.

Optional 1.5-liter gasoline is good for 116 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, 1.5-liter diesel generates 140 horses and it offers automatic transmission with the torque convertor. Gasolines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Front-wheel-drive is standard in the Creta model.
2023 Hyundai Creta Price and Release Date
As we said, a new 2023 Hyundai Creta will directly rival the Mahindra XUV500 model in India. There will be two different versions, one with five seats and the second with seven seats. The price will start at around $21,000. Moreover, this model will also arrive in China and Europe. The sales will begin later this year in India.
