The forthcoming 2023 Jeep Gladiator is expected to be a carryover for the 2023 model year. After great success with this truck, the manufacturer decided to give Gladiator some small refresh inside and out. The current generation was introduced last year and is still considered a relatively new model.
According to many websites, the Jeep Gladiator will be facing a $2,020 price increase over the current model. However, there is a good reason for that, and it has something to do with the standard equipment list that should be larger than before. A choice of two engines is available once again, including the same 3.6-liter V6 and diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Design
Regarding a small exterior upgrade, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will remain the same as the current generation. From what we have heard, the manufacturer will refresh its front fascia with much better graphics, leaving the same recognized rounded headlights and grille bars. As you may know, this model is based on the Wrangler model, featuring an identical front fascia.
Also, the windshield folds down, and doors/top are removable as well. TheSport trim comes with 17-inch steel wheels, which is much better for rock crawling than a nice set of alloys. The Rubicon and Mojave are the most favorite models, and both comes with bigger fender flares and larger all-terrain tires. The Rubicon variant also includes protective rock rails for the lower parts of the cabin and the bed.
What`s New Inside?
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is modern and spacious inside, offering seating for five in total. Rear legroom is 38.3 inches, which is much better than the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and Chevy Colorado. Sport trim is an entry-level trim that includes air conditioning, cloth upholstery, push-button start, small infotainment system, Bluetooth, one USB port and an auxiliary audio input.
Overland is a step up with power windows/locks, tinted glass, heated side mirrors, keyless entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, satellite radio, and three more USB ports.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Powertrain Specs
Under the hood, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator is powered once more with the same engines. There are also rumors that the upcoming model might introduce some mild hybrid system attached to the standard 3.6-liter V6. The base model with this engine produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque.
However, the manufacturer also offers a diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that is capable of producing 260 hp and 442 lb.-ft of torque. Anyway, six-speed manual transmission is standard with the 3.6-liter engine, while eight-speed automatic is optional. The diesel variant comes with only an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date, Price
The release date of the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will likely happen next year. If we rely on previous releases, we can expect this truck to debut at the end of summer. As mentioned, the forthcoming truck will be a carryover model, featuring some small refreshments outside and inside.
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of Sport is $35,315, while the Overland starts at almost $43,500. Rubicon and Mojave models cost around $47,260. However, fully loaded versions could exceed $60,000. Looking at off-road-focused competitors, the Chevrolet Colorado Z71 is the closest one that starts at $40K.
