The all-new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is coming to the markets once again. This time, the manufacturer will look to deliver more dramatic upgrades. Thanks to that, the new model will get an even more attractive design and the interior will offer more modern features. The performances are great and the credit goes to a potent 6.4-liter V8 engine. Of course, the Trackhawk variant is incredibly powerful, but the SRT version is more than a capable performer.
Interestingly, but Grand Cherokee could arrive under a different name. After the Washington Redskins, Jeep and its Cherokee model are basically forced to change the name. Jeep says the company is open to dropping the “Cherokee” name in response to objections from the Cherokee Nation, which is another interesting twist.
2023 Grand Cherokee SRT Redesign
As we already wrote, the all-new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is getting a complete redesign. Of course, the regular Cherokee model will be redesigned but the SRT variant will get the same updates. The base model comes with different proportions. Its boxy design is recognizable, along with the seven-slat grille. However, Jeep will now introduce the same styling cues as on the Grand Wagoneer concept. The Grand Cherokee SUV will from now on ride on the Alfa Romeo Giorgio architecture. Because of that, the new model will be slightly longer and wider.
The SRT variant looks more aggressive and sportier at the same time. This model offers larger 20-inch aluminum wheels and new performance tires. The aerodynamics are better as well and both the front and rear fascia will gain a lot of changes. Thanks to that, Jeep will deliver new headlights, taillights, exterior paints, and even a new sunroof.
Interior Gets Larger Display
On the inside, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will provide even more space than before. As we said, SUV’s dimensions are larger than before. Again, this SUV will borrow a lot of stuff from the Grand Wagoneer concept. This is a good thing as the Grand Cherokee model will look even more modern and unique. That includes new and larger displays.
Interestingly, the original concept shows seven displays, but that won’t happen in reality. However, the SRT version will surely offer a larger 12.1-inch touchscreen as standard. Furthermore, a digital instrument cluster looks huge. Jeep will deliver a new Uconnect5 infotainment system, additional carbon-fiber materials, and more leather materials too.
Potent V8 Engine Remains
A new platform, new features, complete redesign, but nothing will change under the hood. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will utilize the same 6.4-liter V8 engine. It is a proven output that generates 475 horsepower and up to 470 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful Trackhawk variant comes with a supercharged engine that develops 707 horsepower.
So, if you want more power, Trackhawk is the only answer. As for the SRT, performances are still great and this model can tow up to 7,200 pounds. Unlike the base Grand Cherokee, the SRT model comes with a sport-tuned suspension, better ride quality, adaptive dampers, and further mechanical upgrades.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Release Date, Price
The price of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will now start at about $72,000. From what we know, this model will hit the dealerships by the end of 2021. However, Jeep confirmed that the Grand Cherokee SUV could arrive under the completely new name. This is not official yet, but it is a very likely outcome.
