The upcoming 2023 Lexus GX460 will arrive at some point next year. After years of carryovers, the GX460 SUV will finally provide improvements. It is a three-row SUV with room for seven passengers. The latest changes will provide a more attractive look and the cabin will look more modern.
The interior will introduce more upright materials and the comfort will be better than before. Still, some things will remain, including the reliable powertrain option. It is a potent V8 engine that provides great performances. The sales will begin later in 2021 and the price will slightly increase.
Lexus GX460 Exterior Redesign
New 2023 Lexus GX460 will introduce various cosmetic updates. New SUV is about to gain a more aggressive look but its boxy shape will largely remain. The front end adds new triple-beam LED headlights and a larger grille. To the sides, Lexus now offers very stylish 18-inch alloy wheels and more modern bodylines.
The rear section hosts redesigned LED taillights and a new tailgate that provides easier loading and unloading. Overall, we think this SUV now looks more modern and it comes with a sportier stance than its predecessor.
Interior Improvements
As for the interior changes, the new 2023 Lexus GX460 will introduce more upright materials. The build quality is better and the cabin will host more high-tech amenities. Unfortunately, that is not enough for GX460 SUV to rival more luxury models such as BMW X5 or Acura MDX. Still, the boxy shape provides ample headroom and the cargo area is very spacious.
The GX460 remains a three-row SUV with room for seven occupants. Comfort is better than before and we are hoping to see a new larger touchscreen option. Upper trim levels are offering more luxury, including NuLuxe simulated-leather upholstery and additional driver-assistance aids.
Trim Levels
The approaching 2023 Lexus GX460 won’t introduce any changes in its trim level lineup. The base variant offers a refreshed 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard. Moreover, you will get four USB ports, Bluetooth, and tri-zone climate control. If you want the range-topping trim level, the Luxury trim level is very premium. It comes with adaptive suspension, leather upholstery, and additional wood and chrome accents. Furthermore, Luxury trim offers a premium sound system and a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system.
Engine Specs
The all-new 2023 Lexus GX460 won’t provide changes under its hood. That means the engine and the transmission are unchanged for 2023. However, we think this isn’t a bad thing at all. A potent 4.6-liter V8 generates 300 horsepower and it comes with a proven 6-speed automatic transmission. This gearbox option comes with a two-speed transfer case and a locking center differential. Thanks to that, the GX460 SUV provides more than solid off-road capabilities.
2023 Lexus GX460 Release Date and Price
The exact release date is not available yet. However, the new 2023 Lexus GX460 will surely arrive in the second half of 2021. Most likely, this SUV will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of the year. As for the price, the new model will cost more than the outgoing model. The price will start at around $53,000.
The Premium trim level is available for $57,000 and the Luxury variant for $70,000. The price is in range with the rivals such as Audi Q7 and BMW X5. On the other hand, the Acura MDX is a more affordable model.
