The upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-50 is a replacement for the CX-5 crossover. This model will go on sale later next year, and it will be the next-gen model. The CX-5 model is one of the most popular and reliable SUVs in its mid-size segment. The sales are good, but it is time for additional refreshments.
Besides great looks, the CX-50 model will offer a very modern and upright interior. As for the performances, we expect to see the same SkyActiv engines, along with the mild-hybrid powertrain. The price will slightly increase for 2023MY, and here’s everything you need to know about this new crossover-SUV.
Mazda CX-50 Design
The forthcoming 2023 Mazda CX-50 will continue the tradition of the CX-5 model. We are talking about the very modern design and an athletic stance that this model has to offer. Some changes will happen, but the CX-50 model will continue to wear the same Kodo design language. In our opinion, this is one of the best-looking and sharpest models in the mid-size segment.
On top of that, there is a Carbon Edition that is becoming more and more popular. This variant comes with a black metallic grille, black 19-inch alloy wheels, and Polymetal Gray exterior paint. On the other hand, the new model offers the Soul Red Crystal color that is the most popular choice among the customers.
Interior Features
The interior of the 2023 Mazda CX-50 won’t change drastically. The base trim level is well-equipped, and it offers a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen. Moreover, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cloth upholstery, and leather-wrapped steering wheel are also offered. The Touring Preferred SV trim is the new luxury trim.
This variant comes with a power moonroof, larger display, premium Bose sound system, and much more. However, the Carbon Edition is the best model you can get, in our opinion. This model is incredibly sporty. It offers a black interior color scheme in a combination of red accents and leather seats.
Six Engine Options
New engine options are a possibility for the all-new 2023 Mazda CX-50. For a start, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder SkyActive-G engine is available. Moreover, this unit works in combination with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. It can generate 184 horsepower, which is more than enough for solid performance.
However, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel and 3.0-liter SkyActiv-X outputs are the best possible choices. Thanks to a turbocharged engine, Mazda CX-50 will produce 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, and it is the most powerful model you can get. To make this simper, Mazda will offer up to six different engine options for 2023MY.
2023 Mazda CX-50 Price, Release Date

The price will now start at around $25,500 while the range-topping trim level costs $40,000. This crossover will hit the dealerships in summer 2021.
