The forthcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS is the brand’s latest SUV. If you didn’t know, the EQC is the Mercedes’ first electric SUV. Now, the manufacturer will introduce a new full-size EQS SUV that also rides on fully electric power. Of course, the SUV variant is based on the EQS sedan, but some parts will be different. That includes different platform and numerous visual differences.
On the other hand, some things will be the same as on the EQS sedan. Anyway, the SUV variant will be impressive in every possible way, providing great performances and a high level of luxury. We don’t know that much about the EQS SUV at the moment, but here’s everything you need to know.
Mercedes-Benz EQS Driving Range, Charging
The brand-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS will borrow a lot of things from its sedan sibling. That includes the same powertrain option, but many reports are predicting more power for the SUV version. The EQS Vision Concept is presented with a pair of electric motors, producing up to 470 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. A four-wheel-drive system comes as standard, so the EQS SUV could offer similar figures.
The sedan version provides 435 miles, which is impressive. Mercedes said the SUV will run for 478 miles on a full charge, but we think the EQS SUV will provide around 400 miles of range, just like the sedan. The DC fast charger will be available and you can charge this model from 0 to 100-percent in half an hour.
Premium Interior
On the inside, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS will provide a lot of luxury, like any other Mercedes. The SUV comes with impressive finishes, upright materials, and soft-touch surfaces. Moreover, this model will offer the newest driver-assistance technologies and a larger touchscreen option.
As usual, Mercedes will provide microfiber suede, wood, and leather materials, which is a perfect combination in our opinion. Unfortunately, we don’t have all of the details yet but expect a very impressive cabin design with plenty of high-tech features.
Smooth Exterior Design
As for the exterior design, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS will slightly depart from the brand’s traditional styling. This model rides on a new platform and Mercedes says the EQS will be the world’s most aero-efficient SUV. Visually, the front fascia hosts a familiar grille that looks the same on all EQ models. The LED headlights are standard, just like the 20-inch wheels.
Optionally, you can get larger and more stylish 22-inch rims. The side profile looks extremely smooth and the rear part sports a nice light strip connecting the taillights. Lastly, EQS SUV will be available in Standard Line and AMG Line versions. The AMG Line will add unique bumpers, high-gloss black features, a more athletic stance, and generally, more sportiness.
2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS will cost over $110,000. Moreover, the range-topping trim level will surely cost over $150,000. The sales will begin in the second half of 2023 and Mercedes will reveal more details by the end of the current year.
