Mercedes will deliver a sleeker design and a more premium cabin. However, the biggest mystery is possible powertrain options. We still don’t know if the GLC will switch to a different platform that will be able to accommodate the electrified powertrain option. That includes both hybrid and all-electric systems.
2023 Mercedes GLC Spy Shots
As we said, new spy shots of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC are already available. It is the early stages, so the prototype could look different in the future. Still, the base of the vehicle is easy to spot, including its shape and dimensions. Under the camouflage, Mercedes’ Sensual Purity design language is perfectly hidden. Still, some parts are easy to recognize, despite heavy camo.
The rear fenders are very muscular, and generally, the rear part looks sportier. The front fascia comes with the brand-new headlights that are similar to the headlamps on the E-Class. On the other hand, the taillights are not visible in the photos. Some renderings are available too, but it is just a bold prediction of how the new GLC crossover could look like.
Interior Gets More Luxury
The new-gen 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will look more premium on the inside. The crossover will deliver the latest MBUX software, and it will switch to a fully-digital center console. The upcoming C-Class will wear the same console once it arrives. The cabin is redesigned, and that includes the dashboard. Whatsoever, the dash now looks larger.
A tablet-like infotainment touchscreen is gone, and it will be replaced by a bigger integrated display. According to the German manufacturer, the interior will provide more passenger room and a higher level of comfort. On top of that, the cargo area will be more generous, and GLC will deliver more versatility.
GLC Crossover Could Go All-Electric?
The all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC could switch to a new platform. Many reports are suggesting new architecture that will accommodate some sort of electrified powertrain. If that truly happens, GLC crossover will arrive with either plug-in hybrid system or all-electric powerplant. Furthermore, the AMG GLC 63 version could arrive with a completely new engine.
The high-performance variant will ditch its V8 engine for a more potent unit that will deliver even greater performances. As for the regular GLC, its 2.0-liter four-cylinder should remain a standard engine option with 255 horsepower. The crossover delivers 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Moreover, it offers a standard nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Price and Release Date
The approaching 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is the next-gen model. For that reason, the price will now start at $50,000 or slightly above that. The crossover will most likely debut next year, and it will go on sale in summer 2021. It will continue to rival BMW X5, Lexus RX 350, and Audi Q5 models.
