The upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Raider is going on sale next year. On top of that, this pickup truck will become available in the U.S. as well. Raider pickup was discounted decades ago. However, Mitsubishi plans to revive this nameplate and give it another chance. Of course, new 2023 Raider won’t share many things with its predecessor, besides its name. That means we should expect a completely new truck that will borrow a couple of things from the L200 version. The
L200, aka Triton, is available across the whole planet, and Mitsubishi will work with Nissan in making the new Raider. We think Raider has great potential to become a competitive truck in the United States. According to the latest reports, Raider will arrive as a mid-size pickup truck. However, not all of the details are available yet.
2023 Raider Styling
Brand-new 2023 Mitsubishi Raider should offer something new and unique. For a start, this pickup truck will hit the roads with an eye-catching design. It will look very modern, and we can see the impact of the L200 model. Raider is a product of the Mitsubishi-Nissan alliance, and we have no doubts about the vehicle’s appearance. However, we don’t expect plenty of borrowed things from the L200/Triton truck.
Raider is a four-door pickup truck with a short bed. We think the Japanese automaker will provide a couple of different body styles. However, trim levels or possible special editions are not available yet. It will be a surprise to see an all-new trim level. The latest stories are suggesting the same trim levels and optional packages that you can find on the Outlander SUV.
Engine Specs
Under the bonnet, the 2023 Mitsubishi Raider will provide a gasoline engine exclusively. This may come as a surprise, as the L200 truck offers a diesel engine in some countries. However, Raider won’t use a diesel engine in the first year of production. Instead, Mitsubishi opted for reliable V6 gasoline with 230 hp. Moreover, this engine will generate 220 lb-ft of torque. However, potent V6 will be an optional engine, according to various reports. That means a 2.5-liter four-cylinder should become a standard engine option. This engine is capable of producing 150 horsepower.

Mitsubishi will most likely offer some sort of high-performance version. On the other hand, we are waiting to see official specs and info about trim levels. After Nissan acquired 34 percent of Mitsubishi, we should expect some changes. That includes transmission and the improvement of fuel economy ratings. A plug-in hybrid variant is probable, but still unlikely for 2023. However, Raider Hybrid could become available at some point in 2023.
2023 Mitsubishi Raider Price and Release Date
When it comes to price, the new 2023 Mitsubishi Raider won’t cost over $25,000. That is still below other mid-size truck such as Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger. Mitsubishi plans to offer an affordable pickup that should gain instant success.
That means the range-topping trim level will surely cost closer to $40,000. The Japanese manufacturer plans to release its brand-new pickup truck in the first quarter of 2023. Moreover, Raider should reach American dealerships as well.
