The upcoming 2023 Nissan Frontier is one of the most impressive mid-size pickup trucks. The mid-size segment is perhaps the strongest segment with so many established models. Frontier is the future, however, the 2023 Frontier won’t change significantly. After all, the 2021 Frontier is the model that will arrive with more drastic upgrades.
For that reason, the new Frontier will gain mid-cycle refreshments. We should expect minor visual upgrades and various high-tech updates. A potent V6 engine is relatively new, so the performances will also remain. That includes mechanics and transmission as well. A new pickup truck will go on sale at some point in 2021.
2023 Frontier Looks Better
New 2023 Nissan Frontier comes with mid-cycle improvements. That means the arriving mid-size pickup will visually remain. The dimensions and shape are unchanged. However, minor visual refreshments are about to happen. Frontier already looks modern, and its styling is relatively fresh. Nissan will try to create a more athletic stance, and bodywork will be improved too. Frontier shares its platform with the Navara pickup truck.
Whatsoever, two models are using the same leaf springs and some other mechanics. The front part sports revised headlights, and grille look slightly larger. The rear end remains intact with the taillights and bumper that are introduced on the 2021 model. New exterior paints are in the offer, and the mid-size pickup continues to roll on its standard 16-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Enhancements
New 2023 Nissan Frontier offers very modern interior design. Furthermore, the cabin is tech-rich, and it can be compared with modern SUVs and crossovers. Nissan offers generous interior room and comfort is more than solid. New Frontier won’t get interior design changes at all. However, it will get various updates in terms of technology.
That includes a new infotainment system and the latest driver-assistance aids. Safety ratings will be better, for sure. The base trim level continues with the same cloth upholstery and the same display. Upper trim levels are using leather materials, and larger displays are looking incredibly modern. There will be three cab configurations, and the lineup of trim levels shouldn’t change.
Fresh V6 Provides More Power
The approaching 2023 Nissan Frontier offers a 3.8-liter V6 engine. This powertrain is relatively new, and it replaced a 4.0-liter V6. The slightly smaller output generates around the same amount of power as its predecessor. New V6 is capable of producing up to 310 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
A new nine-speed automatic transmission is available, and an aging five-speed gearbox is no longer available. The new engine also offers a variable displacement oil pump and direct injection system.
2023 Nissan Frontier Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2023 Nissan Frontier will become available at the same price as its predecessor. If you want the base trim level in a King Cab setup, you’ll have to pay around $20,000. Crew Cab variants will cost $25,000. A new mid-size pickup truck will be launched at some point next year. The second half of the year is the most likely release date. Nissan will release more details closer to the release date.
