One of the most robust heavy-duty trucks is definitively the new 2023 Ram 3500. As far as we know, the manufacturer will update this model in the following year, housing many available techs and luxury features. On top of that, the Ram 3500 will get the same treatment inside as the lighter Ram 1500 variant. So, expect a premium interior that is filled with more standard equipment than ever.
Under the hood, you can have the Ram HD with either a gas-powered 6.4-liter Hemi V8 or a Cummins 6.7-liter turbo-diesel inline-6. However, Cummins is a worthwhile upgrade if you’ll be doing some serious towing. With this engine, the Ram 3500 can pull out class-leading towing of 37,100 pounds.
2023 Ram 3500 Exterior
One of the most muscular, capable American pickup trucks is definitively the new Ram HD. The new model will reportedly receive some exterior changes across trims, and it will keep the same colossal grille and lots of straight lines and sharp edges.
In general, there are plenty of customization options, and you can get the Limited model with its special grille, the Limited Longhorn trim with unique 2-tone paint options, and the Power Wagon with a more rugged off-road appearance package. Actually, this variety allows you to choose the trim that best fits your own style.
Interior Features
The interior of the new 2023 Ram 3500 is more spacious compared to rivals from Ford. This model is available with a few cab options. There is a Regular Cab with no back seats, a Crew Cab with roomy back seats, and a massive Mega Cab with rear legroom that delivers 43 inches.
The interior of the Ram HD will change drastically compared to the previous generation. First of all, the base Tradesman model has a comfortable and practical cabin, but it lacks many features available on the upper trims. More features are added up the model range, and you can find luxuries like full-leather seats, real wood and aluminum interior trim, a Harman Kardon 17-speaker audio system, and much more.
2023 Ram 3500 Powertrain Specs
Beneath the hood, the forthcoming 2023 Ram 3500 will continue with the same line of engines as its predecessor. Basically, you can get this model with either a gasoline 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that produces 410 horses or a powerful Cummins 6.7-liter turbo-diesel inline-6 with 420 horses and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and 4-wheel drive can get optionally on all models.
Like before, the 2500 models have a single-rear-wheel configuration, while the dual-rear-wheel “dually” setup is only available on the 3500. As for the transmission, the V8 has an 8-speed automatic transmission, while Cummins comes with a 6-speed automatic. At this point, we do not know economic estimates, but we can expect the EPA rate very soon.
