The all-new 2023 Subaru Pickup Truck will arrive this year as a brand-new model. The current lineup includes regular cars, crossovers, and SUVs. Clearly, Subaru needs a pickup truck as soon as possible. The segment is popular once again and the Japanese manufacturer will offer one very soon.
It will be a unibody pickup truck, most likely a mid-size model. Subaru will build its new pickup on the Viziv concept. However, some styling cues and interior bits should be taken from the existing company’s SUVs. Expect more than solid performance, attractive look and a price that is in line with other mid-size competitors.
2023 Subaru Pickup Truck Is Based on the Viziv Concept
As we said, a new 2023 Subaru Pickup Truck will arrive as a brand-new model. That means you can expect a unique design with impressive aerodynamics for a pickup. However, some of the exterior features should be borrowed from the Outback SUV. On the other hand, most of the vehicles will get the same or similar amenities that you can see on the Viziv concept. Whatsoever, most of the company’s arriving vehicles are using the Viziv concept as an inspiration.
Thanks to that, Subaru Pickup Truck will arrive with modern appearance and a sportier stance. The front part will host an interesting layout with a wider grille and stretching headlights. In the back, taillights are shaped in a similar way. Thanks to its unibody structure, the upcoming pickup truck will provide more aggressive styling.
Cabin Features
The interior will also look closer to the interior of the concept. The forthcoming 2023 Subaru Pickup Truck will sport a lot of innovations inside the cabin. Modern design with the latest systems and features is a must nowadays, even for a pickup truck. Again, Outback SUV is a perfect example of how the new pickup will look like on the inside. High level of comfort, large displays and plenty of room are what we expect from Subaru to deliver. Interior design is almost the same but pickup will arrive with a different layout for sure.

Moreover, Outback offers more high-tech amenities so don’t expect a pickup to offer everything that SUV has to offer. The arriving mid-size pickup will most likely offer a room for four persons. On the other hand, Subaru is yet to announce trim levels and body configurations. Subaru will provide good safety ratings and a high level of comfort, but range-topping trim levels are still miles ahead of the base model.
2023 Subaru Pickup Truck Powertrain
Because of its unibody architecture, the new 2023 Subaru Pickup Truck will most likely deploy a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This gasoline output can produce up to 295 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, its fuel economy should be on par with the rest of the mid-size pickup truck competitors. The Japanese automaker will offer a CVT transmission as standard.
Still, off-road adventurers are hoping to see a manual gearbox in the offer as well. As for the diesel, it will become available on some markets. However, Subaru remains silent on this topic. Hybrid is another possibility but very unlikely for 2023. Subaru will release more details this summer.
Price and Release Date
The price of the upcoming 2023 Subaru Pickup Truck will be in line with the mid-size segment. Most of its competitors are available for around $30,000 and the company’s new pickup will be no different. Of course, Subaru aims for the market in the United States but that won’t happen in the next year. The sales will start later in 2022.
