The fifth-gen RAV4 was introduced two years ago. For that reason, the 2023 Toyota RAV4 should arrive with mid-cycle improvements. We don’t expect anything significant to change. After all, RAV4 is an affordable model with so much to offer. It offers a lot of trim levels and numerous powertrain options. The RAV4 crossover is a model for everyone.
Its base trim level is a little bit Spartan, but upper trim levels are nothing but a luxury. Of course, its Prime model with a hybrid powertrain is the best option you could get. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021 and here’s everything you need to know about this small crossover.
2023 RAV4 Changes
According to the latest reports, the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 will gain a sharper look. For a start, its bodylines are replaced and new lines are providing a more aggressive appearance. The angles are sharper and that means we could expect reshaped exterior features such as headlights and taillights. Its styling already looks modern and refreshed. The RAV4 model provides plenty of options, including the two-tone paint schemes.
The base trim level looks kinda cheap. However, upper trim levels are using more chrome accents and larger 18 or 19-inch wheels are offered as standard. If you want more luxury, trim level such as Limited comes with polished alloy wheels, blacked-out exterior features, and much more.
Interior
In terms of interior design, the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 will continue to looks upright and stylish. Whatsoever, this crossover is one of the most elegant models in its segment. The cabin space is generous and we think comfort is great. The base RAV4 offers standard cloth upholstery and manual seat adjustments. However, upper trims are available with SofTex seats with heated/ventilated options.
A new infotainment system is in the offer, but we think the current touchscreen will remain intact. The interior design won’t change and even its layout will be the same. That means Toyota will deliver more standard equipment and more driver-assistance aids. That includes systems such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a new 360-degree view.
Hybrid Available
The regular 2023 Toyota RAV4 will use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower. Moreover, an eight-speed automatic transmission is available, along with the front-wheel-drive system. This engine option does not offer good acceleration and it is too noisy at higher speeds. Luckily, Toyota offers a hybrid powertrain option.
The RAV4 Hybrid uses the same 2.5-liter engine but in a combination with two electric motors. Total output is rated at 220 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive setup is offered as standard. Moreover, a CVT transmission is in the offer. The hybrid model comes with more power and significantly better fuel efficiency.
2023 Toyota RAV4 Release Date and Price
When it comes to price, the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 will start at around $28,000. However, upper trim levels such as Limited or TRD are available for around $35,000 or slightly above that. Still, the most expensive variant is the RAV4 Prime with a hybrid powertrain. This version is available for $40,000. Toyota will launch its new crossover in the second half of 2021.
