2023 Volkswagen ID.4 USA Release Date & Redesign. The brand-new 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is coming to the markets in the very near future. Last week, the German automaker revealed the first official images. Thanks to that, we had an opportunity to see the first interior details. The cabin looks sleek, and Volkswagen will offer both SUV and coupe body styles. As for the exterior design, it will follow the same path as other ID models.
According to reliable reports, this model will provide an all-electric driving range of 200 to 300 miles. Moreover, ID.4 SUV will arrive with a single and dual-motor setup. Once it arrives, ID.4 will become the brand’s second electric car, and it will rival Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia e-Niro models.
Volkswagen ID.4 Design
Volkswagen also unveiled the images of exterior design. However, they are not photographs but renderings, unfortunately. However, the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 won’t offer anything innovative and new. Instead, it will arrive with the same design language as other ID models. The front fascia offers standard LED headlights that extend into the badge that sits in the center. There is no grille as this is an all-electric SUV.
The lower front bumper looks dramatic, and it comes with air intakes and a sportier splitter. The same story continues in the back with LED taillights and a smaller rear window. The side profile looks sleek, and VW will offer larger alloy wheels, which is great. The customer can choose between a normal SUV and a coupe-SUV that offers a more sloping roofline.
Interior Details Available
As we said, VW released the first interior images last week. The upcoming 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 SUV will look similar to the ID.3 model, and we are not surprised. The interior is simple and modern. The dashboard provides a sweeping design, and a digital driver’s display is offered as standard. On top of that, there is another large free-standing touchscreen for infotainment.
The German automaker offers impressive ambient lighting with 30 different colors. Furthermore, ID.4 SUV comes with a panoramic glass roof. As for the interior room, the ID.4 model will be spacious enough, roomier than Golf, but less spacious than Tiguan. Lastly, there will be two special editions in the offer.
Driving Range and Charging
According to Volkswagen, its new model will provide 310 miles of driving range on a single charge. The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 will offer an entry-level version that provides 200 miles. The base trim level uses a single rear-mounted electric motor, while range-topping trim comes with a dual-motor setup. That means the upper trim levels will offer a standard all-wheel-drive setup.

The regular variant will be a rear-wheel-drive SUV. Standard output will produce around 200 hp, while dual-motor models will generate up to 300 horsepower. Volkswagen says that you will be able to charge this SUV at the home charger in one night. The good thing is that the VW will offer a 125 kWh charger so you can charge your ID.4 from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes.
2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Release Date and Price
The approaching 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 will cost more than its competitors, such as Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Kona Electric. All three models are small electric SUVs, but ID.4 will cost around $35,000 for its base “S” trim level. The ID.4 SE starts at $40,000 and SEL variant at $45,000. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2023.
