BMW X8 2023: Release Date, News, and Rumors. The upcoming BMW X8 2023 is a new brand’s crossover based on the X7 SUV. According to various reports, this model will go on sale by the end of the year. The X8 is filling the gap in the BMW’s lineup of SUVs. Look at it as an X7 SUV with a coupe-like roof. New BMW X8 should become company’s range-topping coupe-SUV and it will slot above the familiar X6 model.

New X8 is in development and it is codenamed G09. Once it hits the roads, it will become BMW’s eight SUV. The good thing is that most of the vehicle’s details are already available. That includes latest renderings, interior design and powertrain options.

New BMW X8 Renderings

New BMW X8 2023 and X7 models are as closely related as the X6 and X5 variants. However, X8 comes with a coupe-like roofline, something X7 does not offer. On the other hand, the front fascia is almost the same. The X8 crossover sports the same large kidney grille with seven vertical slats. The thick chrome grille is recognizable and it looks very premium. It is flanked by the thinner headlights but new X8 could get new shape of the headlamps.

The bumper will look brand-new and it will add sportiness. Bigger intakes are sporty as well, including the slimmer lower intake. The hood is the same as on the X7 SUV. However, the biggest change is the side profile. The shape of the roof is different so X8 won’t look as boxy as BMW X7. The rear section comes with rectangular exhaust pipes, slimmer bumper and a traditional BMW’s tailgate.

Engine Lineup Borrowed From the X7 SUV

No surprises under the hood as the new BMW X8 2023 shares engines with the X7 version. However, this isn’t bad at all, as X7 model offers very potent powertrain options. In the US, X8 model will offer a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 335 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. If you want more power, the xDrive50i version comes with a 4.4-liter V8 turbocharged engine.
