The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD truck has been finally spied testing. From the first available photos, we noticed many upgrades over the previous generation. The caught prototype is wearing a significant amount of camouflage that covers the front fascia, front fenders, hood, box, and the entire rear end.
However, we managed to see some refreshments, including more rugged styling and redesigned LED headlamps. On the other hand, beneath the wrap, the revised grille is visible with minor changes. As for the engine, the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is still powered by the same gas-powered 6.6-liter V-8 and optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V8.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD will not significantly differ from its predecessor. At first glance, only mild-cycle refreshments are preset. However, changes are visible through trim levels, and Silverado 3500 is offered in four trims Work Truck, LT, LTZ, and High Country. The most favorite is the LTZ trim, featuring a more eye-catching grille, LED headlights, Lift tailgate, and Advanced Trailering System.
The Chevrolet Silverado High Country is the best option if you have some additional money. The most expensive trim offers more chrome details and large 20″ 16-Spoke Aluminum wheels. Like its lighter Silverado 1500 sibling, the new heavy-duty truck comes with a massive and modern cabin. However, in the same class is the Ram HD, which offers many more additional features. However, for 2023, Chevy should offer more standard features to keep up with Ram HD models.
Since last year, every Silverado heavy-duty model supports Chevy’s latest 8.0-inch infotainment screen, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Silverado 3500HD also comes standard with a seven-speaker Bose audio system, a SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless charging. Other optional features are heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a head-up display.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Powertrain Specs
The latest 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a very weights truck that needs powerful engines. Considering that, Chevy offers two powertrain options. The stock one is a gas-powered 6.6-liter V-8 powertrain that generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft torque. This drivetrain is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, and it uses eider rear or all-wheel drive.
Generally, the most powerful is optional Duramax diesel. The machine consists of a 6.6-liter V-8 that makes 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft. Unlike the base model, this one comes with more smooth Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level model that uses a gas-powered engine can tow up to 17,400 pounds, while the diesel version can pull a maximum of 36,000 pounds.

The release date of the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD will happen later this year if we can rely on recent rumors. Likewise, most gossips indicate September as the month of its release. Besides, the new Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD features more rugged styling and plenty of drives assist features.
However, compared to the outgoing truck, the new one cost slightly higher, starting at $40k. Competitions are high, and the new Silverado 3500HD will rivals models such as Ford Super Duty and Ram HD.
