The forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD will arrive with further changes. The latest reports are suggesting a couple of significant improvements, mostly on the inside. Whatsoever, Sierra HD will gain the same type of updates. GM will deliver more high-tech features, including safety aids. On the other hand, the design won’t change at all.
Chevrolet will continue to tweak its heavy-duty lineup so it will look closer to the Silverado 1500 light-duty pickup. We don’t know if the performances will improve. Most likely, things should remain intact under the hood. The good thing is that the customers can choose between gasoline and diesel engines.
2023 Silverado HD Gets Larger Grille
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD will host minor exterior upgrades. For instance, the grille seems to be larger than on the outgoing model. This heavy-duty truck lineup will continue in the same manner with its robust appearance and upright styling. The rear part offers unique DuraBed feature that maximizes cargo capacity.
Thanks to that, Silverado HD offers class-leading figures with 83.5 cubic feet of space. New Silverado will provide larger corner steps, and it will focus on practicality. Design is a carryover, but you should expect more standard equipment than before.
Major Interior Updates
The upcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado HD comes with major interior updates. This time, Chevy will focus on the high-tech features and modernizing the cabin. As we said, Sierra HD lineup will get the same type of updates. That includes new software and a new trailering camera system. Moreover, the system consists of 15 camera views, so Silverado HD now offers various angles around the vehicle.
The cameras will cover the bed and even the space behind the trailer. The new infotainment system is available, and some features will be taken from the Silverado 1500 model. Chevrolet will deliver optional head-up display and various driver-assistance updates. Crew cab configuration is available once again, and it provides room for six people.
Diesel Should Gain More Torque
As before, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD will use the same engines. The good thing is that Chevy offers both gasoline and diesel engine. A 6.6-liter gasoline V8 is standard, and it delivers 401 hp. Moreover, this engine can generate 464 lb-ft of torque. We need to mention that the 6.0-liter engine is no longer in the offer. Still, diesel remains the most popular option among customers. It is the same 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel that can produce 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.

However, GM said that the diesel powertrain would gain more torque for 2023 so the towing capacity will be even better in the future. At this moment, Silverado HD can tow up to 35,500 pounds. The diesel engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. As for the gasoline, it comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD Release Date and Price
The price of the arriving 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD starts at $37,000. It is a small jump in price over the previous model. Better-equipped trim levels start at $40,000, and the range-topping High Country model costs $65,000. Complete Silverado heavy-duty lineup of trucks will go on sale later this year.
