Ford with the Super Duty can tow 37,000-pound, while Ram Heavy Duty isn’t far behind with its 35,100-pound rating. This unit produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque and is comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Alongside, the manufacturer also offers an optional Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel with 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
In general, if towing heavy loads is your priority, we recommended going for a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel. With this engine, towing is increased to best-in-class 35,500 pounds. Unlike the gasoline engine, the diesel one uses a new 10-speed Allison automatic transmission.
