Ford is about to return its Bronco SUV. However, that is not everything, with the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup also coming to the markets. The Blue Oval plans to create a Bronco family that will consist of SUVs and pickup trucks. Bronco Sport Pickup makes perfect sense, and this model could be the next big thing in the truck segment.
The customers should expect a customizable pickup with plenty of optional packages and special editions. The future is bright for the Bronco nameplate. While the SUV will rival Jeep Wrangler, the pickup variant will take on Jeep Gladiator. Two models will share plenty of similarities, including the platform, styling, and further mechanical details.
2023 Bronco Sport Pickup Design

While Bronco SUV will arrive in the coming months, the new 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup won’t arrive this year. However, various reports are saying that the production already started. As its name suggests, the pickup version will be based on the Bronco Sport SUV. Two models are the same in terms of mechanics and powertrain options. Styling is similar, but the pickup truck variant will surely arrive with a more rugged appearance.
Rendering photos are available, and it is the best look at the new Ford’s model so far. The front part looks modern, and some cues are taken from the Ford Escape crossover SUV. The design language is almost the same, but Bronco Sport Pickup looks more aggressive. Of course, some styling cues are the same as on the Bronco Sport SUV, including the taillights. The new model will rival Jeep Gladiator in every possible way. Thanks to that, Bronco Sport will also feature a removable roof and windshield.
Engine Specs
This is a no brainer. New 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup will use the same two engine options as its SUV sibling. Everything starts with a smaller EcoBoost engine. It is a 1.5-liter engine, while a larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost will be optional. Exact specs are not available yet. However, both engines will use the same eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive comes as standard as two models are using the same platform.

That means the all-wheel-drive is optional, which comes as no surprise. A hybrid variant is a rumor at the moment. Jeep will offer hybrid powertrain to its Wrangler SUV. Bronco SUV could follow the same path, and the pickup truck is also a good candidate for electrification. The Blue Oval manufacturer will release more details by the end of the year.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Release Date and Price
The price is perhaps the biggest mystery so far. New 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup will surely cost more than the SUV variant. That means we should expect the price that starts at above $30,000. What we find interesting are the pickup’s trim levels. Blue Oval won’t offer traditional trim levels. Instead, Bronco Sport Pickup will offer trim, such as Outer Banks, Big Bend, and Badlands. The sales will start at some point next year. More details will become available by the end of 2020.
