Reportedly, the fresh new 2023 Chevy Silverado HD will go on sale later this year. The testing mule is spied, and we have first look at spy shots. At first glance, the upcoming Silverado HD features the same attractive look, and it shows a variety of upgrades. Anyway, expect both the outside and inside to receive an overhaul. On the other hand, the engine lineup will remain unchanged.

The Silverado HD models are available with both gasoline and diesel engines. While both versions are powerful, a diesel offers significantly better fuel efficiency and hauling capacity. On top of that, the manufacturer will introduce an all-new MultiFlex tailgate that’s more functional.

What’s New for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD?

Among many heavy-duty pickups, the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD is still highly positioned. This truck, besides robust styling, looks attractive and massive. Much of the attractiveness comes from the first thing you see, in this case, the black grille. It is huge, featuring Chevrolet lettering and attractive slim LED headlights. Unlike the previous model, the upcoming Silverado has a new bed called DuraBed. This bed is exclusive to heavy-duty models offering a class-leading volume of 83.5 cubic feet.

On top of that, Chevy Silverado HD models come with enlarged corner steps for easier access. In addition, trailer-tow mirrors are standard, as the new power-operated MultiFlex tailgate. Moreover, if you are looking for a more towing truck, the Silverado 3500 HD dual-rear-wheel (“dually”) model is the ideal choice to consider.

Interior Changes

Chevrolet, as the manufacturer, is very famous for its high durability and quality materials. So, expect the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD to feature a roomy cabin and plenty of modern cues. If we can believe in recent news, it will share plenty of technology with the Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. However, the seating layout remains, and it ranges from a 3-person bench to the more comfortable 5-passenger setup.

All Silverado’s, including the HD models, come with a touchscreen of either 7 inches or 8 inches in size. However, Chevrolet’s cabin still can’t match Rams 12-inch touchscreen display or even Fords massaging seats and audiophile sound system.

Same Engine Lineup

Beneath the bonnet, the latest 2023 Chevy Silverado HD should remain unchanged. Like the current model, the new one will continue with gasoline and diesel engines. The standard engine is a powerful 6.6-liter V8 gasoline capable of delivering 400 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque.

Alongside this engine, the manufacturer also offers an optional 6.6-liter V8 unit. This potent turbodiesel engine produces maximum output of 445 horsepower, and it has a fantastic torque output of up to 910 lb-ft. Moreover, many believe that Silverado HD could offer better torque ratings in 2023. If that happens, we can expect at least 1000 lb-ft of torque and a maximum towing rate of 35,000 pounds.
